buy.at launches content generator - ContentEngine

Dear all

buy.at is pleased to announce the launch of their latest innovation – ContentEngine – a flexible application designed to deliver buy.at affiliates of all abilities with tailored, specific and relevant content to their websites.

The team at buy.at would like to take this opportunity to thank the affiliates who we have been working closely with us to beta test this application over the past three months.

The ContentEngine is a highly flexible tool enabling affiliates to create ContentUnits. Affiliates can fully customise their ContentUnits from the type of products and descriptions displayed, to the look and feel (colours, fonts and layout). One line of code is generated by the ContentEngine Wizard to be added to an affiliate's site, in XML, JavaScript or using server side languages such as PHP, to maintain the SEO value of the site content.

The application provides affiliates with the means to boost their sales, by presenting their site visitors with the products and services they want to buy. ContentEngine also includes HeadlineOffers - a feature designed to deliver merchants' leading promotions and offers into a ContentUnit.

ContentEngine functionality means affiliates will never have to work with product feeds again. Every time a merchant updates their feed, all content units using that feed will be updated automatically.

Where do I start?
In your management area , you will now be able to find a link to the ContentEngine under the “Content and Creative” section. This will take you to the ContentEngine Wizard, where you can easily follow the step by step instructions to build your buy.at ContentUnit. Alternatively, you can create a ContentUnit in just a few clicks just by adding a search term and clicking on the “Preview” tab. A step by step guide to using ContentEngine is available in your Management Area.

Competition
To celebrate the launch of ContentEngine, we are giving you the chance to win some superb prizes for the affiliate who adds ContentEngine to as many of their domains as possible (until September 30th 2007). The first place prize is a weekend trip for two to Paris and a superb driving experience for the runner up.

Looks good.. managed to put together a litle content unit without too much difficulty and like the range of options available too.

Just one problem so far... when searching for "ducks" and selecting "play.com gadgets" - i end up with books/games and everything else from play but no gadgets?

Also.. as I'm a lazy so and so... do you have any plans to offer a few templates

Jason

Hi Jason,

Thanks for your feedback.

Please note that the problem you describe is due to the fact that for merchants with multiple feeds the default product feeds are searched; therefore the “Gadget” results are appearing at the end of your search.

We are currently working on widening the search, which will lead to more accurate results.

Regards,

Noaf

Hi Jason,

we have updated the search and found that the reason you weren't seeing the desired results is that these items do not have product descriptions.

Products without descriptions are suppressed from the results. In order to change that, go onto the "Content" tab and de-select "Suppress items with no description".

This will return the Gadget Ducks!
