Waterstone's 24 Hour Codes

The Waterstone's 24 Hour codes are impractical to promote (for this part time affiliate anyway). Today (Tuesday 4th at 5:39pm) I received via email the Waterstone's newsletter, which included:

"We will have a number of voucher code throughout the month too, starting this afternoon. From 2pm today (Monday 3rd September) for 24 hours Save an Extra 15% off Food & Drink titles using the Voucher Code FD9753."

It's bad enough for me to put the effort in to promote a code that is only valid for one day and by 2pm at that but then to receive the affiliate newsletter after the code has expired, well I just have to write in and grumble as it's not working for me.

I've just wrote a blog post asking for more merchants to provide more codes, so thanks for the code but I'd prefer a code with a bit more staying power all the same.

Totally agree - 24 hour codes at such short notice are a total waste of time to anyone except the most switched on ppc affiliates.

Please give us codes that last a decent time period and/or give us an advance notice schedule giving at least 48 hours notice of when a code will become active.

Firstly I would like to apologise for the short notice given to affiliates of this promotion. Obviously, asking affiliates to work to such short notice is unrealisitc.

Waterstones have been working to provide affiliates with more tools to make their programme a sucess, including doubling commissions for September and updating their creative but unfortunately this offer code was annouced without enough notice. There will be more codes to come from Waterstones and we will ensure that these are promoted to you with enough time for you to make use of them.
