  Angry Capital One problems?

Has anyone else noticed any tracking issues with the Capital One credit card program?
We were generating around 2 to 3 conversions per day for the Classic card, but after reviewing stats, I notice we've only generated a couple in the past three weeks!

We did update our links to the deep links provided in an email from buy.at, this changeover seems to correspond with a fall.

Does anyone have a reliable link we should use for the Classic card?

Hi,

I'm out of the office at the moment so i cant check your account, but if you can drop your account details to david.mcniven@buy.at, who runs the account, then he'll be able to look into this for you and make sure your links are setup correctly. I'm not aware of any tracking problems with the programme so hopefully we should be able to sort this out fairly quickly for you.

Cheers,

Warrick

Hi,

At present the default landing page for the Capital One programme directs to a multi-product landing page. However please be advised that affiliates are paid for all applications by customers on this page.

We have provided a deeplink to the classic card, and just to confirm the structure is as follows;

newcreditcard.at/YourAffiliateHandle?DURL=http://www.capitalone.co.uk/web/MenuUrl?pageId=72055

If you have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact me on 0191 241 6500.

Regards,

Yes this happened last time when Capital One changed the landing page from direct to classic card to all cards on the page, i have emailed buyat about this issue but no change to having back to classic card, like i said to them deep linking does not work with Capital One classic card i dont know why but looking at my stats and the only reason for the change in leads is the landing page change.

  Angry Re: Capital One problems?

I have also experienced tracking problems with the Capital One classic card since they changed the landing page.

I tried the deep links suggested by buy.at, but noticed the conversions dropped to zero or just one or two per day. In all the years I've been promoting Capital One I've never experienced such low conversion rates.

I reverted to the standard tracking link and the conversions returned to around normal.

I reported this to buy.at early last week, but have yet to receive a formal acknowledgement there is a tracking problem with the deep links. I also will expect to be compensated for the lost sales, based on my past performance.

Now I am just using the standard link, I feel I'm probably losing a few sales as the Classic card is the last card on the generic landing page and the user will need to scroll with a 1024x768 screen resolution. When the user is clicking on a link on my site to 'apply here for the Classic card' I want them to be directed to a Classic card landing page!

  Re: Capital One problems?

Further to Zaq's post I can confirm the following in relation to the Capital One programme on buy.at.

The default destination for the Capital One credit card programme will revert back to the Classic card application page at the request of the merchant. The reason for this decision is that a number of new credit card products are being added to the exisiting multi-product landing page. In order to assist ease-of-use for customers, and to ensure that customers are forwarded to the relevant card when they click through a link, the default landing page is being changed back to the classic card.

Also because the classic card was located at the foot of the multi-product landing page, conversions for this card were affected. The amendment to the landing page is to ensure optimum conversion for the classic card.

Please be aware that if you would like to promote the Plainum cashback card on the network, you will be required to deeplink to the multi-product landing page. This can be achieved by amending the following link to include your affiliate ID;

newcreditcard.at/YourAffiliateHandle?DURL=http://www.capitalone.co.uk/web/MenuUrl?pageId=10200

Please also be advised that affiliates will still be paid a standard £10 per submitted application commission rate on all the other Capital one cards present on this page.

The change of landing page will be carried out today, 7th September and all affiliates have been notified of this change via email. If you require any assitance, or have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Regards,

  Re: Capital One problems?

I've noticed the problems with Capital One with buy.at continue. I understand there are further tracking problems and note that no conversions have shown in my account for the past few days

I'm starting to lose confidence with buy.at now following these recurring
problems, particularly as they seem slow to react to these issues.

  Re: Capital One problems?

Hi,

We sent out an email about this on Monday morning as soon as we were aware of the problem with the tracking so I dont believe we've been slow to act in this instance. We are working to get the issue resolved as quickly as possible and as soon as we are confident that the tracking has been fixed we'll be sending another email out. I appreciate that this isnt an ideal situation but in this instance we are able to still track the sales and they will be reinserted once we have resolved the ongoing problem. If you have any concerns please feel free to give me call and I'll be happy to discuss them.

For reference, here is the email we sent on Monday:
-----
Please be advised that due to the recent changes on the Capital One site that tracking for the programme has been momentarily affected.

We are urgently working to resolve this - all sales accrued during the downtime will be paid for and re-inserted shortly.

I will be giving an update as soon as tracking is back live. In the meantime if you have any questions please let me know.

Kind regards,

David McNiven
-----

Cheers,

Warrick

  Re: Capital One problems?

Just to add to Warrick's post, the real-time tracking issues that were affecting the Capital One programme have now been resolved.

We have tracked all sales during the downtime and these sales will be inserted shortly.

I apologise for any inconvience this may have caused and have sent out a programme-wide email which includes further details.

If anybody has any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.

Regards,

David
