The Ninja's are back! Bring it on! (i'll email you tomorrow Laura - but please get us added).
Since I heard about it at the Buy.at gig I've been in training. My performances last time were dire so I'm out to make amends (I've been watching the chopper Harris, Souness and Cantona videos)

Come on the Ninjas!

p.s. I'll bring the footy for our Summer training camp in Barbados!

I've just managed to injure myself and I don't really want to be seen fraternizing with the opposition, so no football for me in Barbados, I'll be on a pre-tournament opposition scouting mission though, will pack my notepad

Think you're staying in my room so I might have to convert you to a Ninja. Though if you have injury problems then perhaps we won't want you

Hey,

Its due to start at 1pm and as for finishing, the actual football will most likely be done by 5 however, this can depend on the fitness of the players and how tense it gets.

The post match analysis however could easily go onto the wee hours of the morning as it did last year

Cheers

Laura

Thumbs up Re: The Buyat Football Tournament Is Back!!

I'm happy to announce that the sponsorship deal has gone through and I can officially announce Affiliate Rovers are now Kitbag's Affiliate Rovers.

As part of the sponsorship deal Kitbag will be providing the team with some light blue Lazio football shirts:

Also offered was the Ajax kit, but I know buy.at had white & red last year, so we opted against that, didn't want a colour clash in the final There was also a suggestion of the team wearing the new Liverpool away shirt, but the players weren't sure if they would be able to pick each other out:

Kitbag.com - an online sports store for official football & rugby kits and more, run an affiliate programme on AW, AF & TD, for more information contact John Fitzpatrick.

Congrats on securing the deal Ian, I am surprised I didn't read a leaked post anywhere on the web about this

It's a shame for all the other teams, not only are we going to be the best team there, we're going to look the best too.

Consider it Footballs version of being Google Slapped - Try a little harder and it might be better next year

What's all this kit sponsorship deals about?

I thought it was an amateur tournament, next thing we will have mercenary players hanging around playing for which ever team pays them the most

I have seen a couple of comments from Kandevil and Vialli talking up their chances.

I remember the Affiliate Rovers team from last year being........... how do I put this........ poor so I think you will have a long way to go to get to the final.

Saying that buy.at will not be the force they were last year as they have lost their talisman and playmaker. This loss has been likened to France not having Zidane.
  • Will buy.at cope without their inspirational playmaker?
  • Will Affiliate Rovers Kit sponsorship make them Prima Dona’s???
  • Will Paddy Power be laying on odds for the tournament?
  • Will there be a better selection of cheerleaders this year?

the Rovers weren't poor, we gave the ringers a good run for their money in the quarter finals

Sorry mate, it must be that nobody remembers the quarter finalists

Hopefully this year there will be no ringers, maybe all players should have to pass an Affiliate Industry Test before playing.

Questions on a forum post…………………

An interesting quote Browny, I think the only resemblance between you and Zidane is your temperament on the pitch. (I was going to mention the clear difference in the number of chins you possess, but we don’t discriminate over here at buy.at )

Both myself and Nick Caulfield, who incidentally share a glittering football managerial record spanning 20 years*, are striving to take buy.at 1 better this year and become winners of the illustrious buy.at footy tournament. With this in mind, the buy.at team is already into their 2nd week of training. Under the supervisory wing of Andy McNab, we have devised an inhumane training schedule comprising of both physical and mental tests that would reduce a normal man to tears. Subsequently, our team BMI is now knocking on that “under 30%” door and morale couldn’t be higher thanks to a record number of gingers in our team.

The buy.at footy team blog will be starting soon, so you will be able to keep track of the carousel of emotions that surround the toughest
