It would be great if we could get a discussion going here with the topic, what do affiliates look for when they sign up to a bingo affiliate programme?

Some of the points I would like to know are:

Which are the most important factors in choosing an affiliate programme? Commissions: how important are the terms and conditions when you look at commissions? Do you prefer rev share, hybrids or CPA?
Promotions/bonuses: What sort of promotions do you prefer? Do no-deposit bonuses work better for you or sign-up bonuses? Do you look at the merchant's retention promotions/programmes?
Brand recognition: Do you only choose the most popular/well-known brands?

And how do you find those affiliate programmes that you want to sign up to? Through email contact by affiliate managers, phone contact, conferences, forums, news or search engines?

Which are the most important factors in choosing an affiliate programme?

Software and if the site is on a network comes first for me, this is one of the main reasons on how a site will convert from registration to depositor.

Commissions: how important are the terms and conditions when you look at commissions? Do you prefer rev share, hybrids or CPA?

For any committed affiliate that can drive a little traffic to a merchant then rev share should always be the choice, and obviously the most important part would be a life time deal.

Promotions/bonuses: What sort of promotions do you prefer? Do no-deposit bonuses work better for you or sign-up bonuses? Do you look at the merchant's retention promotions/programmes?

From my experience, it seems bingo players like to try before they buy, so a no-deposit bonus is favourable for me.

Brand recognition: Do you only choose the most popular/well-known brands?

Nope, sites like Cheeky Bingo are doing very well without a known brand name.

And how do you find those affiliate programmes that you want to sign up to? Through email contact by affiliate managers, phone contact, conferences, forums, news or search engines?

Look what other portal sites are promoting or talking about.

Most affiliates will add any or most merchants to there sites..

A lot of affiliates look for flexible payment options, payment timeline. Quick response to affiliates and players helps as well.
They also look whether the site has compelling offers for players or not.

Bingo is a growing product in the UK and as such we have seen an explosion of hundreds of new bingo rooms, as well as merchants in other areas of the gambling sector opening their own rooms to profit from this growing trend.

Bingo affiliates from the short experience I have in the bingo affiliate sector look for

* player friendly promotions/good signup bonuses
* brand recognition
* solid software
* colours/schemes friendly to the bingo demographic

Giving an affiliate an exclusive promo could definitely help, for front page exposure.
