Gaming Alerts - have you seen it?

I was wondering if all of you have heard of Gaming Alerts. We have 4 portals Bingo, Poker, Casino and Bookie. The amazing thing about these sites is the alerts that we send out to ourusers, informing them of upcoming offers and bonuses at the best operators.

We are making some major changes to the site (we are re-building), which is going to make it the biggest and best around compared to all the other sites out there!! We are also hoping to partner up with loads of sites so if any other affiliates out there are interested, please let me know.
Take a look and sign up to the alerts so you can see what it is all about and when we relaunch later this year I will let you all know.

nice dragons den pitch congratulations hope it works(ed) out with theo

I liked Duncan's what people play bingo at home ....

gah as experienced as the dragons are they are they just don't get anything internet based, which bearing in mind it's the nearest thing to a new age gold rush you'd think they'd be more internet savvy

watched with interest - and couldnt' believe no-one asked the main question - 'how are you going to get the traffic' --- just shows we still have a heck of a long way to go, something which I think we forget as we live and breath t'internet, and don't realise that most folk still don't have an idea how it works!

Well they did very briefly attempt to cover it a little - they touched on they own and run Jack media - a media buying agency - which on looking is billed as a specialist media buying agency for online gaming companies-no more than that mentioned though - though it still appeared they got an investment valuing the co at c £667k without really covering costs and revenues properly, just an aggressive turnover & net profit target . I am not saying they won't do it - I wish them the best of luck and would love to hear a success story - I just guess there is a huge amount of due dilligence done after the program.

I was quite amazed that they got the cash - especially as I don't recall there being any info about userbase (their forum has 117 registered users) or web stats.

Still fair play to them for getting the cash - will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Its a nice concept. I haven't actually downloaded it myself and would think a lot of people fear these download programs and they are more of a nuisance than any benefit if these alerts are going off every time you turn your PC on.

I did think they were larger than they are because to be honest I wouldn't of taken £200k for 30% of my bingo sites

There's the rub. The whole concept lives and falls by that. Many would baulk at doing something like that - why not just grab a few key rss feeds instead? It's a great idea, but it does need a bit working on to make it more palatable to your average surfer. It would be an ideal facebook app. Maybe. But I suspect many would not have something like that on their desktop.

But, then again, I worked on an animated desktop weatherman for the BBC, and people stuck that on their computers. Not in big numbers, but there will always be a few that do such things. I can't see the Alerts sites getting any sort of real volume with the software, but I'm sure we're all aware they probably doing a lot of their business through SEO and actual on site conversions. I could be wrong though.

I was amazed how little was spoken about what the money is actually for as well. Is it for development of the software? PPC? Marketing? Etc. They didn't really touch on that. The figure she gave of 2 million online bingo players a year was well out as well. The figure brought up at the Online Bingo Summit was 250,000. I don't know where 2 million came from, I think she pulled it out of the air.

There's one thing that came from that though. Given Theo Paphitis' mention that his wife plays bingo online every night, I would have loved to got her on my mailing list and a nice rev share...

Just checked out the sites and a few search terms Looks like they are doing OK with the bing site. They rank top 10 for bingo and top 20 for online bingo & bingo online. The exposure of the show can only help them, I would guess, so it could turn out to be a decent investment.

Also noticed the site was developed by Bronco

I blogged about this earlier this evening. Theo Paphitis is robbed of £200k for 30% of affiliate site Gaming Alerts in Dragons Den TV show

I'm very surprised that Theo invested £200k in this. IMHO its nowhere near worth that, even for 100% of the company, never mind 30%. As Elaine says above I sometimes don't think we realise how little the outside world knows about internet marketing.

mmmm becomes clearer now - Bronco is owned by DaveN - a well-known top SEO guru (and Leeds Utd supporter ) - so I reckon getting traffic won't be too much of a problem, if he's involved with the SEO side of things. Bronco would probably be my choice if I was setting up another company.

I'm glad I was not the only person thinking this then. I don't often watch Dragons Den (my wife hogs the telly) but I whilst it might be a nice product I was astounded that it raised that level of investment!

If someone wants to give me 200k, I'm pretty sure I could get much more value for that 30%

    Fair play to them though!

i was stunned by this. they appeared to be a pair of chancers wanting that type of investment, and came across very much as that to me. i have no idea what the hell they intend to do with £200k with those affiliate sites, nor even how they could come anywhere close to justifying needing that amount of capital. preposterous!

he may be a retail guru but paphitis got sucked in here hook line and sinker methinks.

still, fair play to them for what must be one of the biggest shows of holding your nerve i've seen in ages. even if i did find the girl a bit irritating. lol.

Saw the show on TV tonight, congrats on getting the investment. Must say you both looked very nervous when making your pitch, but I guess most people would.
