    All,

I have begun to notice a recent re-emergence of site lifting, notably in the sportsbook sector. http://www.myfreebet.info/ - a Greek site has completed lifted the framework, link structure and content from http://www.bettingchoice.co.uk. As an Affiliate Manager, this is simply not on, for an affiliate it's simply fraud. So I urge all affiliate managers to dump myfreebet.info!

There are plenty more of these types out there, and I have some pretty strong views on them. I've got some pretty strong views on bonus whoring sites too, but I'll save them for another day! I'm sure affiliates and affiliate managers around the world feel the same way so I think it's about time operators and affiliates alike worked together more closely on sorting the wheat from the chaff and get rid of these cretins!!!

    Thanks,
    Tom Galanis

We wanted to thank all the AMs who responded so decisively against the chap from Greece who stole our code, images, articles and swapped out the links. (http://whois.domaintools.com/myfreebet.info gives details).

This is an excellent example of partnership with affiliates and affiliate managers. We were informed by a vigilant affiliate manager of the content theft and 90% of affiliate managers contacted today responded to our request to review the theft within a few hours. It turns out that several other affiliate sites had been cloned in a similar ham-fisted way and he had been banned from several in-house programs in the past.

The guy has since launched a rear-guard action claiming he is working with us but that is just rubbish. He has not responded to our requests to take down our stolen site and replace this with his own site. The only change he has made is to change an element from blue to red. He has not even had the nous to change the html in his source code which has our meta tags and articles and elements embedded. He has made an assertion that this was available in a public forum but that too is just ridiculous and untrue.

In a time when the industry is going through a number of changes and where responsibility is being encouraged to market gaming in a measured manner, we believe strongly that it is important to adhere to business ethics.

The AMs who responded positively today have sent a strong signal that they are working in partnership with affiliates and we are very grateful that they acted as they did.

    The team at Bettingchoice
