Has anybody else had any bad experiences with these guys?

Last year we were happily promoting Duplicate Poker for over 6 months and had a good relationship with their Affiliate Manager Trey Bennett. Tracking seemed to be quite problematic though and we regularly had to get missing leads checked and credited, but checked and credited they always were.

Then suddenly communication is completely lost, no replies to emails regarding untracked sales, despite many being sent.

Eventually (after 2 months of trying) we received a reply (after emailing a number of addresses and trying to contact them via CJ) from a new affiliate manager who appears to be based in Israel, saying he would look into the missing transactions - finally!

However, we then received a reply saying that Duplicate Poker were 'not responsible for missing transactions' and that our CJ account manager had explained this to us! (which has never happened!).

Despite a number of follow up emails being sent, we have had no replies and are now out of pocket for a significant sum

I would therefore strongly advise any affiliate against considering working with them, firstly due to the number of untracked sales we had and secondly due to them unfairly with-holding commissions for what we are certain to be valid leads.

I can only assume the previous affiliate manager left his job and they simply didn't want to have to pay us for sales that they hadn't tracked, but it's extremely frustrating and thought it best to share our experience here, to save others from a similar situation...

That's always a shame to hear.

Merchants need to learn that if they can't be held accountable for their program, they are not going to retain affiliates.

In the 11 years we've been in affiliate marketing - the best lesson we learned was that a happy affiliate is a profitable one. This is one of the reasons we have a 3rd party company double check all stats and payments to make sure no-one is ever short changed.

You can't run a successfull program on faulty tracking.. and if you are just shaving a sale here and there, it's not worth loosing an affiliate over!
    Thanks!

They had a stand at CAP and there were loads of them there Jon, so perhaps you need to route out a new contact - still someone else should have been there to reply if that person has left...

    Hi Itay,

Thanks for your reply, I will send you a PM....

Liat was the second person I was then in contact with, but has decided to ignore my previous emails

Oh and yesterday, we received an offer via CJ to promote them again

So not sure what's going on there, but PM on the way!

Any update on the Duplicate Poker situation? I am wondering if there was some sort of deal where they players had to reach a requirement for CAP etc?

I know they are not on PAP right now and we have spoken to them a few times about issues there. It's an interesting business model that they claim has no competition. I wonder what is different about them and PurePlay.com?

They have a booth at Amsterdam and Liat is a great manager, she'll sort it out.

Trey left the company and is now working on the retail side. I just saw him in Vegas at Affiliate Summit. He said there were always reporting problems..
