What is an "Incentivised site" ?

I keep reading a lot about "incentivised site" in referance to having a different commsion structure.. what are these sites in a nutshell??

They are sites such as 'freeipod' or 'cashback' sites.

ie the affiliate agrees to give the user a return on their purchase or action.

because alot of people on incentive sites (or poorly managed cashback sites) are from very poor countries or are teenagers and dont have any interest in the product or service and are only interested in the cash back and not the service being sold.

The can be good traffic drivers but the overall cost to the merchant can be high for poor return...if any!

we see some great results from them on certain products. on other products it can be very difficult to make money becuase like barry says the customers are just after the freebie.

the well managed cashback sites are better at converting clients and getting them active

how we as affiliate managers tackle the incentivized traffic problem for gaming.

I've done several incentivized campaigns - over all i've got a fairly large number of new sign ups but minimal revenue - the thing is that the best deal with a cashback site is revenue share which none of them would take because they need to cover their expenses to the visitor (the cashback) - usually they take CPA - lower ones but it's very hard to get what you spent back.

i think the solution is in commission on 2nd or 3rd deposits only - that's a way to seperate the men from the kids.

i kind of agree with Idan, but if you can work close enough with the cash back site there are ways to get the customers generating the revenue for your ROI
