Hi Guys

Im looking to buy a domain name.

I understand from previous threads that one needs to have a domain name similar to the service you intend offering.

However, I have spoken to a few people and consenus is that I have to check out how many hits/visitors the sites gets, and how old the site is.

Where do i find this info? Is there a site that I can use.

Also any other tips is highly aprreciated. Thanks

Alexa gives some ranking history info, but normally you ask who you are buying the domain name from for their stats. See also:

SEDO.com is a good resource; also checking the sites inbound links is a good metric to use. Alexa.com of course will help you if the site is currently receiving any traffic.
