Bookmaker Introduces Technology To Eliminate Ref's Mistakes!

Hi guys,

No chat from me to start with; I think this offer speaks for itself:

Blue Square has pledged to compensate punters that get a raw deal from refereeing decisions this Premier League season. They will refund all bets that fall foul of dodgy decisions from the man in the middle in any live TV game. Blue Square have teamed up with website The Right Result, meaning those tales of woe from dodgy penalties, fouls or offsides will be banished. The Right Result use an independent panel of experts from the Association of Football Statisticians to analyse every decision in every Barclays Premier League match. The findings are used to produce a “right result” and a table on the website shows exactly how the league would have been affected. Last season the table suggested that if the referees had got every decision correct Everton would have finished above their Merseyside rivals Liverpool and scooped a Champions League place in the process. One high profile case towards the start of the 2007/08 season saw The Right Result adjudge Chelsea’s equaliser at Anfield to have been scored from a penalty that never was, with the match eventually finishing 1-1. In that case Blue Square punters that had backed Liverpool and a 1-0 home win would have been refunded on their bets.

Alan Alger, spokesman for Blue Square, said: “The debate over TV replays has rumbled on for years, but it’s no fun when you’ve lost a bet and it’s all been down to the man in black. We’ve eliminated that random element so people can bet in confidence knowing that a mistake will not cost them money. Around 1 in 4 results in the Premier League are changed by a dodgy decision so we do expect this to cost us a fair bit of money each weekend.”

Khaled Abdullah from The Right Result said: "We are delighted to be teaming up with Blue Square and believe the decision to offer punters back their stakes for an obvious refereeing error is the right one. Respect seems to be the theme for the start of the season and while the debate on referees' performance will continue to rage, it is good to know that punters can now enjoy something of a level playing field."

Pretty cool, huh?

So, how can you benefit from this as an affiliate? Well, to start with we've got brand new banners highlighting this promotion in a range of sizes on the Blue Square affiliate interface. Just log on and look under the 'Creatives/Banners' header in the left-hand nav bar and click on 'Football', then find the banner(s) you want, copy the code onto your website and hey presto!

If you host editorial content, it's also definitely worthwhile writing a paragraph or 2 on this promotion including text links - remember, decent integrated content generates just as many registrations as banners do.

And finally, don't forget that you could win a Nintendo Wii, Madonna tickets or a night out at a casino (with spending money!) with our affiliate prize draw at the end of this month - see this post for more details!

If you've got any questions about this or any other aspect of the Blue Square Affiliate Program, or if you'd like to arrange to meet up for a chat with me at CAP Euro in Barcelona next month, drop me an email and I'll get right back to you.

Best wishes,
