Maybe people don't intend to shop when they visit Cancer Research but have clicked to donate.
Hello all
I've added a Cancer Research Banner (120x600) and it has got over 89189, with 75 click troughs but not a single conversion.
It was added to a magazine website, the stats are very poor. I appreciate its charity etc but does anyone have a site that does well with charity banners?

They have a discount code don't they - I guess any potentials could leak out that way?
Discount codes on charities - how sad
I only have a few charity related links and they do tend to convert quite poorly - the Oxfam program on buy.at is worth a look if you are looking for a replacement.
I know what you mean- a discount code for a charity can look a little strange.
In this case however, Cancer Research UK's code is only for free delivery on items from their online shop (FS09TGN0004 - valid until 21st Dec). Their reasoning is to try and make it as easy as possible for potential customers to make their purchases from the online shop, instead of diminishing the charitable benefit of the purchase.
If you are looking for better conversion, try utilising the product data feed available through Affilinet. CRUK's shop has a surprisingly good range of general gifts for kids and adults- not just items that you would associate with a charity.
If you have specific needs for creative- drop me a line and I'll be more than happy to see what else CRUK can make available for affiliates to use.
CRUK current EPC is over £2.50 (on the Direct Giving elements)- so their program is definitely worthwhile. We also have the £10 bonus (see my previous thread in this section) on the first three Direct Debit donations.
Of course, in an ideal world, charities wouldn't have to pay commission (or pay for offline advertising, or pay street "chuggers" for that matter!) in order to generate donations. However, with so many charities competing for the public's attention, charities need to do whatever they can in order to continue their work.
Give me a shout if you need anything!

Well it wouldn't hurt to point out that not every website is a voucher code site (unbelievable I know?).
It's a complete non-starter from my point of view and I speak as someone who features a few charities for no reward whatsoever - I'm not adding codes for charities and I'm not going out of my way to send traffic to those who do.
