5% discount voucher for Marks & Spencer

Hello all,

just a quick note to mention that M&S have got a 5% discount for M&S online for the period of November - the creative is now online with commission junction. this is the first time M&S have offered this discount and we have only chosen selected partners to run this with including CJ.

The commission has gone up from 3% to 6.5% for November but please refer to the recent email for further details. any questions feel free to drop me an email at helen.porter@wheel.co.uk

thanks

helen

Helen, well done, now that's what I am talking about

Offer + competition + decent commission = I will promote you on my sites and in my newsletters.

Today M&S takes top billing in my new HTML format UK Competitions newsletter.. not sure how this is going to work out as it brand new format, but we will see.

mmm only about 24% of the members asked for the newsletter in HTML format, doh! That's a bit rubbish as it looks so much better, wonder how many people don't know the difference between Plan Text and HTML Text.

I use groupmail's option of sending everyone an HTML newsletter, and if the email client doesn't support it, it automatically displays a text version which is also sent with the mailing. Maybe you could write that into your mailing software, Clarke?

We dropped having a HTML newsletter and now only send out a text version - it looked ok, but it didn't do anything special (in fact I think clickthrus were worse on HTML).

Then there's the problem of people not accepting embedded images to contend with too.

Have it written in already. For UK Competitions, people can pick if they want HTML to Text and I can't very well send them HTML if they asked for text. However if they asked for HTML and the email reader defaults to text it shows them a link to the HTML newsletter and also information on updating the options in their account.

For Free UK Stuff it will be a dual send, sent as HTML but if no HTML will default to text. But makes for a big email :-( and sending out 121,000 in one day takes a enough time already.

I tried out HTML newsletter and later dropped it as like you said conversion was crap on it, however I have been doing loads of research and have now come up with what I think is the near perfect HTML newsletter.. i.e. it still has images but looks like a text email to a point and is printable and so on.. No flashy over used colours. Will wait see what happens but better results will come when Free UK Stuff try’s it as the membership on UK Competitions is only around 25,000.

Example of new newsletter format I made www.ukcompetitions.com/ne...ember.html

AOL mostly I think, will do more research if that is the case all AOL people will get text by default. As time develops and I have time to improve what we have (also need to get programmer time from my guys) I will make it more tailored to the big ISP's an what is the most used method to read the newsletters.

Has anyone noticed a distinct lack of sales with M&S using the 5% discount voucher link?

Since changing over to this voucher link I have seen ZERO sales and INCREASED traffic to M&S.

I normally get a sale or two every day but since promoting this voucher ... zilch?

Could there be an issue with tracking here?

2,347 Clicks and not 1 sale I think that must hold some kind of record, also be the first and only time a newsletter advert has never made 1 single sale for me.

I think there must be a problem with the tracking associated with this voucher/competition link.

If you follow the procedure to get your Voucher code it is likely that tracking will be affected.

Moving from www2.marksandspencer.com to uk.sitestat.com and then back to marksandspencer.com.

Hello all

Your all right, Yes we have identified an error with the 5% offer pages and the new links will be changed becuase of testing it will be live we hope on Monday. We only noticed this error on wednesday and i only now have the facts on why and how we can fix it.

Please be assured that you will be credited for leads that you have sent or are still sending to the current offer pages. Our database which is capturing the data can acknowldge where sales have come from as we have the portal ID numbers so this will be manual but we can credit you for sales.

Sincere appologies for this, as you know this is the first time we have run a offer/promotion but please be assured as of 8pm tonight this will be resolved and the offer and commission rise is availble untill midnight on the 30th November.

www2.marksandspencer was the problem and now all offers will be on the usual site.

If you have any questions please email me direct at helen.porter@wheel.co.uk.

Thanks

Helen

Helen you said "www2.marksandspencer was the problem and now all offers will be on the usual site"

However the offer links still point to the same location at www2.marksandspencer?

I understood from your post that this problem was sorted so I resumed promotion using the voucher offer but still have not seen a sale.

Anyone else?
