I've got a $ account but the account number has letters in it - and the bit on cj says "no letters only number".
I've asked the bank, and they say it def has those letters in it...
So before I try and work my way through cj support stuff has anyone had any experience of this problem?
The technology which transfers the money only understands numbers and the only way you could use a target with letters in would be to utilise a manual process but I have a feeling you would be stonewalled on this so your options are to get an account with just numbers or request payment in paper form. And... was I being really stupid to expect to get the $ cheques paid in as $ without a fee? I put one in this week and basically they've charged me 5p less than if i'd just stuck it in my proper account which as far as I'm concerned is a complete waste of time.
Is it just my bank which does that? I did discuss with them on the phone my dislike of paying commission on $ cheques and on their site it says "reducing your exposure to exchange rate movements." which I foolishly didn't ask for an explanation of.
Who do you use for a $ account? (Or should I make that a sep quesiton?)
