  Account Deactivated

Just tried to login and I get a message saying records indicate account deactivated.

Wonder why this is? I'll have to phone them tomorrow.

Any ideas why?

I read somewhere if their is no account activity with 90 days accounts are automatically de-activated.

I could be wrong tho ....

Or on the darker side, you have been reported for wrong doing .... and CJ are waiting for you to get in touch.

Well I've been a good lad so it can't be wrongdoing.

I'm in the middle of doing separate pages for each merchant with the final template to be added later so some of my pages are currently blank.

Previously I only displayed banner and text links, now I'm doing separate pages with some product feed if suitable.

Maybe they got tired of waiting. I'll find out tomorrow what the score is. No great loss. I've also got TD,Clixgalore,Clickxchange,DGM and AF so if they're going to quibble I can find most other merchants elsewhere.

What's more. If they had properly deactivated then the links would land on their splash page. I've just tried a couple and they work fine.

  A Leopard Doesn't Change It's Spots

We have encountered this before with CJ, with an ever accruing amount of about £35,000 to $40,000 in 2nd tier commission earnings due.

We have been trying to sort out for a while with a number of other personal problems with CJ since mid last year & better part of this year to no avail.

The "new look" CJ team have been on the charm offensive in recent months & we are beginning to question if its all a facade. With hollow promises of resolution & continued open dialogue being unfullfilled.

With the new management team in place, albeit pleasant people, the question remains from our perspective what has "actually" changed at CJ...in all honesty absolutely nothing if based upon resolution of our own problems.

Our own current personal opinion...for this particular instance..."A Leopard Doesn't Change It's Spots"

CJ have informed me that because of poor sales I have to reapply.

I was only displaying banner and text links so the click thru ratio was very poor.

I am slowly switching to individual merchant pages and these are getting good profile from the search engines. Click thru has exploded, still waiting for those sales. Loads more work to do. I only spend a couple of hours a week on the site.

I am going to decline their invite to reapply and then go through all the rigmarole of applying to merchants on their network. Maybe later I might reapply but it is annoying to be subject to this by a network.

I am also dubious about their tracking. I have monitored click thrus on the merchants I did have with them and they didn't show up in their tracking. TD tracking is also poor.

There have been long discussion's elsewhere about sample purchases being made and not tracked. Dread to think what the ratio would be re actual purchases against ones which are not logged.

Look on the bright side (if you can!) At least you got a prompt reply from CJ!

True but only because I phoned them.

Didn't even get an email.

Still. I've finished the rough pages for the merchants on DGM today and tomorrow it's TD's turn. Then AF and the others. Then I'm starting on the US/Australian pages as they urgently need an overhaul.

I have the template for the main directory pages ready but those won't be FTP'd for another three months. All the main pages content will be rewritten at that time.

Sure my site is rough. I don't care. I get the traffic and when it is finally as attractive as others around then the sales will come rolling in. I'm more interested in variety than presentation at present. Presentation will come in due course and when it does then I would be very happy buying an Audi A8 6 Litre with the commission.
