  NEW M&S Christmas Bonus Structure

Hi All

Marks & Spencer's will be offering the following NEW bonus structure until December 31st.

The sales targets and bonuses are monthly, giving you some real potential to increase your earnings over the Christmas period with the M&S programme.

Number of
sales Commission
per Month bonus
50 - 100 = £100
101 - 200 = £200
201 - 300 = £300
301 - 400 = £400
401 - 500 = £500
501 - 600 = £600
601 - 700 = £700
701 - 800 = £800
801 - 900 = £900

An example of how this will work is described below:
If you generate 206 sales and £12,352.61 revenue in October your earnings
will be:

Commission: £12,352.61 x 3% = £370.56

Bonus: £300

Total Earnings: £670.56

Start Date: 6th October 2004

End Date: 21st December 2004 (FYI this is the last order date for Christmas)

Happy earning...

Sara Brook

Action Referral Occurrence is is only "1 time"

Would it be possible to set this to "unlimited" to improve the offering to affiliates who may not understand or appreciate the importance of action referral occurances.

We will not be able to increase the offering to "unlimited", however this is not really an issue for affiliates as the typical Marks & Spencer customer orders <5 times a year from the site.

Thanks

How can this 'not really be an issue for affiliates' when we could potentially be earning on 5 seperate sales with a merchant who pays on unlimited action referral occurances?

Interesting method of justification......

I think if we ran a Generic poll for affiliates of whether Action Refferal Occurence across any merchant was an issue (well perhaps issue is too strong a word)..let's say concern...who understand the negative attributes surrounding it. They would be in favour of it being UNLIMITED. Especially in busy seasons like Christmas & when purchasing higher ticket value items.

From all the research M&S have compelted on thier site, the purchasing paterns of their cusomters show that almost no customer purchases more then once within a seven day period. Once the cookie refreshes affiliates will be paid for the referals.

Thanks

Are customer purchase frequencies not seasonal? There are numerous scenarios for purchasing habits, direct type in url's where customer now knows the url, different customers in the same household, size of ticket value etc...There could be a whole constructive thread quite easily set aside for this to go into more depth.

Aproximately whether 3, 4 or 5 whatever the average number of purchases per annum.

The question still remains, what harm is there having it set to unlimited if it is a favourable option amongst affiliates. Even If there is only a small % increase, wouldn't it be a better offering for affiliates, over ride for a network & agency (if applicable).

I am more then happy to set up a seperate thread to discuss buying habits online, however in regards to M&S they have invested alot in research and the above was the outcome.

Cheers

If it is the case the their research shows virtually no buyers are buying a second time within 7 days, why not just set the cookie for unlimited action occurances and be done with it? It would certainly be more appealing to affiliates, that's for sure.
