Shop Direct are excited to announce that from the 18th May 2005, Great Universal Essentials (GUE) will be replaced on the CJ network by its sister brand, Great Universal (GU).
We are confident that by replacing GUE with GU – one of Shop Directs biggest and most established brands - we will improve our sales performance and increase commissions generated by our publishers. We expect to achieve this by offering our customers the following;
- 20% Discount - Great Universal offers customers 20% off their first order, as compared to GUE which only offers 10%.
- 12.5% Cashback - We will offer customers commission on everything they buy. As soon as a customer has paid the first £100 on their account, for every £10 they spend, they can claim 12.5% cashback to buy goods from Great Universal or 10% Cashback.
- Price – GU will continue to represent value against other major catalogue retailers – proved by Price Match promise.
Current GUE customer base & New GU customer base
As with Kays and Kays Lifestyle, we are aware that many of our current GUE customers will still use CJ’s publisher websites to find the GUE site. When a customer comes through a publisher link, we will use a ‘look up’ table to determine whether this customer is either a GUE or GU customer, before they reach any homepage page. This is done using cookies and shopper ids. This customer is then directed to the site that they are used to shopping with. Regardless of which site the customer is directed towards, we pass the relevant CJ tracking codes, PID’s, AID’s etc and then the sale is attributed to you as the publisher.
Payment
As a gesture of goodwill for your continued support, we will pay publishers on sales for orders placed on both GU and GUE sites for the first two months after GU is live. However, our long term strategy is to recruit new customers and after two months we will review paying publishers for orders placed on GUE as these will be from already existing customers.
Product Feed
To any publishers using the product feed, please note that the above does not apply and all traffic is automatically directed to GU only, therefore, you will always be paid for GU sales only.
And finally…
To show our appreciation and understanding of the extra work and effort our publishers will have to do to switch all of their GUE links over to GU,
we are offering 8% commissions from from the launch of GU – 18th May until the 31st July 2005.
