Does anyone happen to know which side of the Atlantic CJ Servers are?.... in particular, the Smart Zones servers.

Sure... I'm running phpAdsnew on a USA server for sites hosted in the UK and USA. I need to move it up a gear and was looking for a performance bench mark.

I wouldnt even waist my time personally, any difference in time delay between usa and here is going to be so small that a human wouldnt be able to notice.

Subject to:

The individual routes used by the isp's to get back to here
Server is configured right
The USA hosting company have a bad connection to the internet (covered in routes)

Testing against CJ's servers provides you with no benchmark at all, for example if they are on a high grade fibre optic network which most premium data centres are then it is going to perfom faster in milliseconds than any generic hosting centre will. Also the difference is a fraction of seconds, they could simply have a faster server that responded quicker than yours. Or equally they could be a bit slow at that given moment in time because of load amounts. What exactly would you benchmark against? You cant load your server under the same conditions as theirs.

I would suggest that speeding up the server or optimising your database would be a better waist of your time.. though i am mildly guessing that you will still try and have a go testing speeds anyway

No actually I won't. I'm not really into squeezing milli seconds... as you say -there are other things to take into account... but I'm still curious to know
