  Cju Uk :)

Just a quick thankyou to all at CJ for CJU UK today - great venue, very thought provoking speakers, no great corporate push and not too crowded.

Well done to all involved and here's to next year.

ps: did anyone find out in the end how Jonny Forster got his new nickname?

pps: sorry I had to go straight away at the end but hadn't realised how time had got on and needed to make sure of getting my train home in time for my evening medication.

ppps: congrats to all of the award winners, proper glass awards, a stage and stage lighting - crikey next year we'll be having a tv celebrity to present the prizes as well as one to give the keynote speech

Advised CJ this morning that we at thomascook.com had a great day and found everything relevant and of interest - would like to see more affiliates there next time! That said I didnt get time to meet most of you who were there - apologies. Pete well done on your award, richly deserved. (wow did I just say that to TUI!). Danny sends his apologies as he couldnt make it.
Until next time, Amanda
p.s. does anyone know who the gentleman is who spoke about his frustration with operators regarding links etc?

In discussions I had with them, the line was still that legacy links will remain available until at least January 2007, and that if they are to be phased out after that we will receive 'adequate notice' - though I did get the feeling they still don't fully appreciate the problems that javascript links bring.

Same as what they are telling new merchants too - a "trial" basis; I can't imagine that they will phase out the "old style" links in the long run.

I got bogged down at the office so could not make it yesterday in the end - seems I missed out on a good event

  Thumbs up More interactivity?

Well done to CJ for an excellent event, and I echo all the good things said by others. But a thought, and forgive me for the grammer; the quality of presentations and thus what the attendees "learned" was excellent, but what did CJ learn? A bit more time dedicated to feedback/structured discussion in smaller groups may have reaped CJ more than the incautious comments made in the bar? Equally, merchants and affiliates may also have found a neutral ground to discuss issues face to face; after all, CJ are the facilitators to the relationship arent they? Nevertheless, a pleasure to be at a corporate event where the day was NOT dominated by the corporate message.

We were kindly invited, but decided not to attend, yes in the past presentations & hospitailty has been excellent & staff always genuinely courteous & friendly.

However, it's become disappointing when after over several years & only just recently numerous lengthy discussions past & present, suggestions are not adopted & some problems unresolved which I see as still having the mindset of CJ US .. with Mr Todds Spin (just to wind up Rich) ... Ostrich Impersonations ... They hear but don't Listen ... & I am beginning to wonder if generally these network specific G2Gs are becoming nothing much more than polite rapport building except maybe the networking aspects (if you are into that) with merchants.

Perhaps one day, if ever the umbilical cord is ever cut from CJ UK's dependence from CJ US, the network may acheive what some good staff already there are capable of acheiving.... Time to cut loose those apron strings.
