Necessary to approve changes to each and every affiliate program?

I must have wasted hours having to approve the changes in commission rates for affiliate programs we belong to. What would happen if we did not approve the changes for any particular affiliate programs? Would we be removed from the affiliate program?

I was told that if you didn't agree when they increased the rates, on particular programmes, that you would stay at the basic rate - don't think they kept me on the highter rates though when I didn't tick the box agreeing to the lower rate
