Commmission Junction's Guide to Google's Trademark Bidding Changes

Hello all.

As you are most likely aware, Google changed its policy on the 5th May to allow trademark bidding. Here at Commission Junction we wanted to give it some time to respond to these issues to make sure we are giving our partners the best possible information.

So as soon as the news broke, we invited a group of industry experts (affiliates, agencies, and advertisers) to attend a roundtable where we discussed the changes, we sought advice from our colleagues in the US who dealt with these changes in 2004 and then we put together a guide on how we believe brands and their agencies can optimise this new policy through their affiliate marketing and by working in the most productive ways with affiliates. To download this guide click here.

If you have any additional feedback and thoughts on this document, please get in touch.

Many thanks,

Jason Baker

Really nice synopsis of the PPC landscape and how this change will effect it. This can be looked at as on opportunity to go capture some more search traffic. More advanced keyword research should be done to figure out what can be capitalized on internally. Regarding affiliates, It's all about good PPC sites that are more like real sites and less like landers...and providing good keyword research and direction on where their chances are best for conversions in the keyword files. My 2 cents.
