Thread: ebay commission incentive

Did anyone else get the ebay commission incentive?

For all leads you generate in November and December exceeding your October 02 level, eBay will pay you a BONUS commission of 100%.
Sounds like a good deal to me.

    Ebay is a consitent performer

Nope, nothing here. Shame really as I do ok with them, and am currently giving them a hefty push.

Maybe they've got so many of us to contact that they haaven't sent us the e-mail yet Got it for one site I'm involved with, but for for another that does 10x as well.

I got it too, it is for 'selected publishers only' On the surface it looks good but then that all depends on how many registrants you got in October.

October was a record month with eBay registrations for me and I think I will struggle to exceed that number in Nov & Dec.

I got it. They sent me a reminder again yesterday too (which was nice), but as said before I think I'm gonna struggle too to do as well as October, but I can only but try...

Exactly the same scenario here - I got the e-mail, but gave e-bay a big push last month and it will be very hard to beat the October figure. (So far this month, registrations per day are slightly below last months).

Sorry to jump in here as I don't even do the eBay program.. BUT and it's a big but

As that not the point on incentives? I mean for an example if you worked in a car show room you would get paid for selling 20 cars that month and your boss says to you.. Sell 30 and I will give you a weeks extra pay.. Your like.. Aaaahhhhh it was bloody hard selling 20, but you try for 30.. If you make it then great your get your weeks extra pay, if you don't you still gave it a push made your commission per sale and so should still be happy enough in the end.

I don't think anyone here is knocking that fact eBay have given this extra commission incentive, but I guess it can look to many as.. Why not do it when we had a crap month, but for eBay that's the point, you have a good month and they want to push you some more. And I am pretty sure many here will make the new goal and be the happier for it.

Ok that's my 2p's worth LOL

    Spot on Clarke!!!
I said I'd find it maybe a bit hard to reach last months figures, but the fact of the incentive has mean these last few days I have tried a few new ways to push them so I can acheive it to it's best potential and make the most from it.

Yep, I got it too. I'm going to try to push it harder on my sites even though I also had a really good October.

I can imagine beating it this month (even though there's a day less this month than last, so we also have less time to do it!) but I doubt I'll manage it in December as things drop off for a few weeks while people are more concerned with Christmas pudding!

It'd be good if they had a permenant incentive, perhaps with different bands of commission.

I will certainly try and beat last months figure (so yes, the bonus works as a good incentive) and in general I think bonus offers are great for getting me to push sales / leads a bit harder for a merchant. Always good to get a little 'extra'

I've only had 2 eBay leads registered so far today, which is a tiny fraction of what I usually get. Is anyone else having problems?

I am having the same problem today, no leads shown at all which has not happened in over 6 months! Hardly the start I was looking for (fingers crossed that there is a delay or something)

Whilst on the ebay topic have you seen the new eBay editor tool which allows you to create dynamic links to ebay.com auctions? Its great but I cant see how I can get it to work for the UK site.

I worked it out. You generate the code then alter the 'siteid=0' and change it to 'siteid=3' for UK. The various country codes are shown in the editors manual (PDF file)

This should be a great tool for more conversions! Well done eBay!

Glad it's not just me that's having problems with the leads! I'm happier (for the moment, anyway!) that it's just a delay rather than something I've done!

I've not seen the eBay editor tool before - I'll have a look at it now!

This forum stops me from having complete panic attacks - eBay is my best programme and to have a day without leads is like the end of the world....... (well nearly)
Thanks also for the editor tool links - wonder why ebay keep these things secret
