Anyone else had the weasly expiry notice from Emirates?

Hi Norton,

Just to confirm, there has been a recent audit of Affiliate Publishers on the Emirates programme in order to remove a large base of inactive or inconsistent sites.

There is no doubt that this will be controversial to some. Please accept our apologies if this action has caused distress and do bear in mind that it was not to be taken personally.

Unfortunately, a number of good quality or high potential publishers, who are yet to make their mark, have been included in this action. We invite them to submit an e-mail to us and we will reconsider them for the programme.

We are currently in dialogue with a number of assertive publishers who have already taken this step and so look forward to forging stronger relationships with these local and international partners.

We are well aware of the negativity which surrounds this mode of action and this has not been taken lightly. Emirates are very cautious with the brand that they have worked hard to build. The actions or negligence of a few has meant that we have had chosen to review a bulk of publishers in this way.

As has already been demonstrated, those who have a desire to work with Emirates and a strong business proposition are already getting in touch and we are making amends on an individual basis.

When do the expirations start -still seems to be live from my site -are Emirates now getting commission free traffic from their affiliates?

The expirations will be made on the 17th of June. Until then, you will be rewarded for all the sales, as normal. If you wish to continue on the Emirates program, please let me know.

Despite this, I see the ads still display, and still send traffic through to Emirates. Presumably the only difference is now you do not pay any commission?

Hi Norton,

As per the current publisher audit for Emirates Airlines, the due date for expiry was on the 17th June 2009. Unfortunately, we chose to delay this for the weekend.

The reason for this is that we had been waiting on the response of the owners of a few URLs who had got in touch regarding the audit.

A number of these communications ran until late on Friday, we felt it only fair to wait until Monday to fully assess all cases before proceeding with the action.

This has now been set in motion and expiry can be expected within 24 hours. We apologize to any publishers who were confused by this. Just to clarify, any publisher who has generated sales for the Emirates programme without contradicting the T&Cs of the programme will receive the commission which they deserve.
