Argos Deep Linking Problems?

For last Christmas I set up several pages with product links to Arogs. The pages also contained pages linking to products at several other merchants.

I sent thousands of visitors to Argos through those deep links, and didn't get a sale. I got plenty of sales from all the other merchants on those pages.

Those pages have also had thousands of visitors since then, still with no sales.

A few weeks ago I set up a new site with lots of deep links to Argos products. Again I've sent them plenty of visitors, without getting a single sale from those links.

I thought maybe there was a problem tracking sales when you deep link to Argos (using the official CJ deep linking method, which Argos allow), so yesterday I removed the links to the product pages, and instead linked to the Argos home page.

Today I got my first sale from Argos from these new pages.

Either this was just a massive coincidence, or there's a major problem with Argos deep links.

Does anyone else use deep links to Argos, and have you ever got a sale from these links?

If tracking isn't working properly I've sent them thousands of "free" visitors in the last year.

If it makes a difference, Argos don't allow deep-linking on TD - so I'm guessing they can't facilitate deep-linking at all - and it's availability on CJ is a mistake, IMHO.

Your thoughts?

I agree with Darren on that it can't be done on CJ..

Although you could try adapting the Argos search engine format (each required link acts as a form and the standard hidden id's are included) as a way to create links to get deeper into Argos

It can be done via the normal method. As it happens, I have had an Argos sale today from a deeplink I set up just last week so I think the tracking for recent deeplinks is OK. However, some deeplinks I set up in August were not working so deeplinking rules may have changed recently. This may explain why I seldom get Argos sales too!
