At least you got an email. I didn't know anything about this ending until I read your posting.
Shame, I was just about to do a major push on them in a couple of weeks - oh well - back to the drawing board....
Hi Lee McCoy
We regret to inform you that the Bank of Scotland programme will be closing with effect from 17th October 2003. As a result of a system migration taking place at the Bank, from the 17th onwards we will be unable to track any further performance on the Commission Junction programme. We are hoping this will be a temporary measure and hope to be back in the New Year with a great new programme.
You will have noticed that the programme terms have now been expired in your account. You can either choose to accept these and payments for any leads generated will cease immediately. Alternatively, if you do not accept the expired programme terms, any new leads sent to Bank of Scotland will only be registered for the next 7 days. After these 7 days, Bank of Scotland will ensure that commissions are paid for any leads or accepted cards which have been generated as a result of the current 45-day cookie, up until the 17th October. For any outstanding leads after that time, Bank of Scotland will honour the payment by assuming the lead has converted into a card.
We hope you find this solution acceptable, despite the short turnaround time of closure of the programme. Thank you for your hard work on Commission Junction with Bank of Scotland and we hope to work with you again in the New Year.
Kind regards
Derek A Wynne

VERY INTERESING

kbudden-
I've not had an email bout this either, or the one about the Morgan Stanley ar*e up even though i'm an active affiliate on both programs. Nowt in emails or CJ mail - but i still manage to get all their newsletters....its a conspiracy argh!
just when Bank of Scot card was on the up for me.... bummer
Thanks to Lee for posting the info!
no worries - somehow I seem to get them.
A bad day is when I get more emails than comms from CJ!!
I did recieve the email, was a little upset as I enjoyed promoting the Football cards![]()
I know at least one person that has created a site focusing on football cards - but he has diversified into other areas so it shouldn't be too much of problem.
Diversify is the number one ruls in business.
I got the email about B of S closing.
I don't get every email I should though, and I've discovered that it's because the company I use for my email service is automatically deleting stuff it considers to be spam.
I'd rather choose to delete what I want than have some company deleting stuff and getting it wrong. When I complained about this they refused to turn off the spam blocking.
Got my email ok :-(
I had dozens of site that used BoS.
Oh well, hopefully they'll resurrect in the New Year!
Who is that? That's pretty mean of them., Not BTO is it?
Didn't get an email. Found out about it here first (thanks). Closure of B of S affiliate prog. is annoying to say the least. On the one hand these affiliate managers encourage us to use integrated deep linking rather than throw up banners and then they close down their affiliate programs whenever they feel like it. Deep links take time to create and are not worth it for smaller affiliates if most affiliate programs continue to chop and change at the rate they do.
Strange, 'cos their links are still working + still showing in CJ.
I like the bit about coming back in the new year with a better scheme...
wouldn't be hard as the present one converted at the same rate as smackheads entering the clergy
new HFs schem has a charity card (RSPCA) and cap one has a football angle as well as barclaycard
can't say as i will miss the poor conversion rate from lead to sale and to think I wasted a whole day knocking a football card site up grrrrr
hope they go away and sort out the application process to fall inline with other companies..then come back with a better converting scheme
