CJ : Please archive all expired links automatically (hide from the sight of affiliates)

It is very time consuming and waste of time to check the expire date of every link on the link detail page before selecting or use that link.

    ---------------------

Besides, advertisers made the mistake to put important link info at Link Description field.

Affiliate waste lots of time to check what the advertisers put on Link Description when they pull affiliate links from CJ interface.

All CJ advertisers, please do put all important info(the code, the promotion period, start and end date) at Link Text field when you create or edit an affiliate link.

Every word advertisers put on Link Description will be ignored easily by default due to CJ interface design.

    Hi Vrindavan,

    Thank you for your post.

When an advertiser expires a link, it is archived, becoming invisible and unavailable to use. So yes, expired links are archived However we do not recommend advertisers expire/archive links for the following reason: if an advertiser has an offer that will expire (code, shipping, sale, that sort of thing), then we recommend that the advertiser change the creative at the end of the period and keep the link live. If the advertiser were to expire the link at the end of an offer period, then that links would archive, become invisible and not track. As you might imagine, we would rather redirect affiliates via new creative to an updated page than have them not track. Sometimes affiliates can get quite busy and we like to make sure that if they do miss a creative changeover, that it will update automatically and redirect appropriately.

The link description does not appear in the creative listing. You would click on the creative to view this. If there is a banner, then in most cases this would be in the creative. Your suggestion is interesting and I will have a chat with some of the folks over here to see if this is workable. Sometimes the description would be a bit too big to put into the name field, hence the separation. Alternatively, we have a voucher/special offer feed you can utilise to get this information without searching. If you would like to get set up with the feed, then please drop me a line and we can get you sorted.

Again, thank you for the constructive feedback regarding the description field. Going forward we will be making some changes to our link functionality, so I will be sure to have a conversation.

    Best,

    >> When an advertiser expires a link

every link, there is start date and end date (or ongoing ) when advertisers create them.

Yes, advertisers usually make it and forget it and never delete or archive them manually one by one later.

The problem like this is affiliate has a hard time when they browse list of links to put them into website.

All CJ affiliate links that has end date before today are still visible in affiliate eyes.

We have no time to verify link date.every time and for every link. (click into a separate page to check one link, click into another page to check another link, etc)

All afffiliate networks will automatically hide expired creatives from affiliate sight while they try to see all available creatives, including banners or text links.

I hope this explain the problem better.

    >>Sometimes the description would be a bit too big to put into the name field, hence the separation

this is not an excuse at all

    correct affiliate link text example:
10% off $100 and over coupon code AABBCC Valid July 1 - July 31 only

    bad affiliate link text examples:
10% off $100. coupon click here
10% off $100 and over coupon code AABBCC
(affiliates have to click into a detail page to extract the coupon or exp. date, if advertisers remember to put them on link description field )

On average, if affiliate have to verify/compare 20 links for a single advertiser every time affiliate want to refresh the links, it means 20 more additional clicks to the link detail pages.
