Hi Vrindavan,
Thank you for your post.
When an advertiser expires a link, it is archived, becoming invisible and unavailable to use. So yes, expired links are archived However we do not recommend advertisers expire/archive links for the following reason: if an advertiser has an offer that will expire (code, shipping, sale, that sort of thing), then we recommend that the advertiser change the creative at the end of the period and keep the link live. If the advertiser were to expire the link at the end of an offer period, then that links would archive, become invisible and not track. As you might imagine, we would rather redirect affiliates via new creative to an updated page than have them not track. Sometimes affiliates can get quite busy and we like to make sure that if they do miss a creative changeover, that it will update automatically and redirect appropriately.
The link description does not appear in the creative listing. You would click on the creative to view this. If there is a banner, then in most cases this would be in the creative. Your suggestion is interesting and I will have a chat with some of the folks over here to see if this is workable. Sometimes the description would be a bit too big to put into the name field, hence the separation. Alternatively, we have a voucher/special offer feed you can utilise to get this information without searching. If you would like to get set up with the feed, then please drop me a line and we can get you sorted.
Again, thank you for the constructive feedback regarding the description field. Going forward we will be making some changes to our link functionality, so I will be sure to have a conversation.
Best,
Daniel Powel
