Price Comparison Portals

Hello,

I have three domain names, http://www.mobilephonesjunction.co.uk, http://www.contractmobilephonesjunction.co.uk, http://www.travelexpert4u.co.uk

and I want to build price comparison portals on all three domain names, and for one of these domain names, I have applied on some affiliate network but some how couldn't get the approval.

I want someone to please tell me how to start in this field as I am a beginner and have nothing on any of these domains.

"This page is under construction" - there's your problem. Without a site in existence, virtually no programme will approve you. Admittedly it can be a bit of a catch 22, but even if you put something up that wasn't using affiliate links, then you'll stand more of a chance.

In essence, most of them at least want to know they're not going to get promoted on some spammy web site which will cause them more problems than enough, but the site itself doesn't have to be about price comparison per-se, just about the appropriate field and maybe linking directly to the merchants for now.

Btw, wouldn't recommend advertising in help posts as you're less likely to get decent responses.

Thank you for your response, and it is very helpful for me indeed. However, there is one more thing which i would like to ask you, and that is, as currently i have nothing on any of my given domain names, installing a wordpress or any other framework theme would do the work or i need to put some content over it too.

Actually I want to make a travel comparison portal like tripmama.com and mobile phones comparison portal similar to directphoneshop.co.uk and until and unless i get the data feeds or deep links as given on tripmama.com i wont be able to design and develop them.

If you can help me with this, that would be very kind of you.

It'll depend on each programme as to what they'll accept, but the more complete the site appears the better I would say.

It is a bit of a catch 22 on the feeds issue, but if for example you create an initial site which just gives blurb about various topics around whatever the site is designed to be, then get approval for the affiliate programme, you can change it to be more price comparison related.

Another thing to remember is with a lot of networks, each programme will list the programme manager at the network, so if you apply to the programme and get turned down, you can often email them to explain your plan and they might either approve the application or talk to the merchant on your behalf.

One thing however - don't assume price comparison brings in mega bucks. There are so many people doing it these days and so many big players with millions of £ to burn, that it can be quite hard getting into the market.
