"I have noticed from carrying out recent reports on London Passes account in Commission Junction, that you have been underperforming in terms of sales.
I am giving the opportunity to try and increase sales over the next month.
However if we do not see an improvement in sales you will be removed from London Passes account.

You will however have the opportunity to rejoin at a later date if you feel you can perform to a higher level than you currently are.

If you have any questions or queries, please feel free to get in touch."

I have never felt so much like replying to an email with an
'up yours you sn*tty b*tch' as this arrogant threat has produced - needless to say they're coming off.

If they think this type of communication is going to inspire me to improve sales when they really need to read 'How to make friends and influence people"

Oooooh it does clear the air vents does a bit of 'fuming'

    Tantrum over.

Well, they are on a network which is a devotee to the art of piss poor communication

Advise them that their network is underperforming at removing scumware, and that you may actually be generating sales for a different account id.

    I've received it too!

The subject line is simply .........

    "Underperformers"

    Very tactful!!

    My reply:

    "Underperforming Merchants"

I have noticed from carrying out recent reports in Commission Junction, that London Pass has been underperforming in terms of sales and conversions.

I am giving the opportunity to try and increase sales and conversions over the next month.

However if we do not see an improvement in sales you will no longer receive any traffic from us.

It is very unlikely that we will trial you again at a later date.

If you have any questions or queries, please feel free to get in touch.

I got it too - bloody cheek

If they bothered to look they would see that what sales we are doing with them lately are through DGM - though I'm tempted to write and tell them that I'm pulling their links anyway - oh and to advise them to get an affiliate manager who wasn't educated at the George Bush school of diplomacy

    "How rude !!

I really suggest you have the common decency of learning a bit of business etiquette or pass your role to someone with a little more decorum.

Until you do, your links shall be removed from our sites.

Secondly, upon several communications to your company re spyware on CJ, you failed to have the common decency to reply, your abstinence suggests you care little for the industry, your brands integrity or affiliates welfare.

When you get off your high horse, rephrase your correspondence in a more courteous manner. come back to us.

By the way, it seems your tactfulness has been noted on the affiliate forum whereby your communication skills are perhaps not your strong point in the art of diplomacy.

P.S. You may wish to brush up on honing your communciation skills

    I just sent this email:

    'Dear Carly,

Thank you for your nice email.
I am just in the process of removing all links for 'London Pass' as they don't fit in with our content. We don't accept advertising from companies with such arrogant affiliate managers.

    Regards

    Jim Ackroyd.'

I do hope she's not offended!

    regards

I also got it and my first instinct was to tell them to f off but I replied:

    Hi Carly,

Rather than sending out emails titled "Underperformers" it would be more helpful to offer help and advice to your affiliates which some other affiliate managers do. By seeing what your top affiliate are doing you should be able to help your underperforming affiliates instead of sending out an impersonal 1 month's notice email!

We run a portal style site which enjoys plenty of traffic and we have some very successful programs but with hundreds of merchants on site it's impossible to promote every merchant to the max however we had made sales through your program and it fits the content of the pages where it features so it seems a shame to terminate our relationship just because we don't make lots of money from your program. We'd be happy to improve and listen to any suggestions you may have. We feature London Pass on several pages:

If you ran some special offers, discounts and vouchers we'd be pleased to add you program to these popular pages:
    [URL snip]

I look forward to your reply...

I have to say I'd drop even my best performing merchant in the blink of an eye if they fecked me about or miffed me,

I for one am never gonna be dependent on or doffing my cap to any one merchant, It should be a two way mutually respectful partnership.

If it aint then thanks but no thanks..

Can't wait to see the ass kissing email that comes out after that barrage of replies

Yes got the same stinker of an email.

Their Network Earnings at CJ are pretty lousy which is an indicator of their conversions.

They also pay a miserable 2 quid regardless of the value of tickets purchased which can go into the hundreds of pounds.

If their program was going poorly I imagine that it will get worse for them now as affiliates stop promoting in disgust.

Ive not worked with them so wasnt affected but it as well as their negative and rude attitude it amazes me that merchants would drop sites that actually make them sales.

Joe's comments I know apply to a lot of my sites and Im sure a lot of others where I have all sorts of minor merchants dotted around my sites that individually are pretty trivial but when you put them all together they all add up to a worthwhile amount.

Surely too its the same for merchants who have a few big affiliates but also loads of smaller affiliates who make a few quid each month which together add to 1000s. A sale is a sale after all and what they seem to be doing as well as offending their partners is turning away sales. Stupid or what!

Me too, and if I get another dismissive or standard fob-off email then I won't wait a month to remove them. I can accept a person who makes an honest mistake and admits it but if they make the same mistake twice that's different.

    My Reply to them:

    Hi,

Thank you for your Email which highlighted how poor your conversions are on our sites. We have now removed all your links and ended our association with London Pass on Commission Junction.

Thank you for your very helpful and informative Email.

They had the pleasure of sending me an e-mail as one of there "underachievers" but hey who needs them there are other fish in the sea and they aren't that special at either conversiosn or payment amounts as bourne out by looking at there profile on CJ.

Well at this rate they will probably be closing all associations with CJ soon as they probably will have no affiliates left.

I for one will not spend my time and money promoting them when they are doing little to help me.

    Another dissatisfied affilaite
