After about 18 months of chasing, I have finally got a response from CJ, saying that they do not deal with any VAT issues. Fine, but I had always understood that as BA was on a separate platform, which allows for entry of a VAT number, and which results in payments coming from BA Waterside on BA notepaper (even if paid from a BF bank account in Sterling), WERE liable for VAT.
I also understood that other affiliates had charged VAT to BA, and been paid it.
As it currently stands, looks like it is now HMC&E I've got to ask for my money back, not BA.
Can anyone settle this once and for all?

Hi
CJ USA's VAT position has not changed and the new VAT regulations that went into effect on July 1st do not impact CJ USA and how it handles VAT:
Because Commission Junction (CJ) is a USA company, the agreements which CJ enters into with its international Advertisers and Publishers are also USA based, and CJ's international operations are structured as service companies; CJ is not required to collect nor remit VAT on transactions fees paid by Advertisers or received by Publishers. We suggest you consult with your tax advisor as to the applicability of VAT remittances and payments to the proper tax authorities.

Description:
I am still tying to chase VAT payments on my BA account. To date, £8088.32 of commissions have been generated (until 1st May 2005). I have been VAT registered since 07 November 2003, and this was backdated to 1st July 2003. I entered my VAT number, and have also tried sending VAT only invoices to BA's UK headquarters, but to no avail.
I would appreciate an urgent resolution to this matter, as I am trying to finalise my accounts for the tax year.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
