As I mentioned in our Laithwaites mega update thread last month the way commission is calculated is set to change in the new year. Essentially this means that the final basket value will have VAT and delivery removed, a common practice which means the merchant doesn’t pay commission on tax. This change has been requested by Laithwaites and will ensure their long term commitment to affiliate marketing.

I have managed to delay this change for as long as possible so that all affiliates can benefit from the Christmas season sales. I have also made sure that there is more than 30 days notice regarding this matter to ensure that all cookies previously set have the benefit of a full 30 day run.

Official change date will be 03rd Jan 2006.
