I think affiliates who may not know or remember the history of this program should be made aware of these two blogs.

Affiliates’R'us » Are affiliates really goldfish?

Why I will never work with Travelcare at Lammo.net - The official blog of John Lamerton

    Hi again all.....

Thanks for your comments Qui Gon Jinn. We are obviously concerned to hear of problems with the previous Travelcare affiliate program in 2002... We wanted to respond to these concerns with some facts about the Travelcare Launch/Relaunch....

Firstly, the reason we have marketed this as a new launch is because the original program has been completely re-vamped, re-packaged and improved - we now have a completely different site, a new, experienced in house marketing team and have also launched on CJ for the first time.

We have invested significant sums of money over the past year or so in a brand new web platform for the Travelcare site. It is now built in Microsoft .Net and is completely stable, open architecture that enables us to track and report accurately. We are confident that any previous tracking issues will not occur again. We have set our cookies at unlimited referrals for 30 days as we know that customers generally don't convert on the first session and will visit our site from various sources before they make their purchase. We will credit the affiliate with those sales! We have taken extensive advice from CJ and Buy at on this launch and have completed a full QA on the tracking with all sorts of visit scenarios. We are confident it is working perfectly! Additionally, in the next few months we will be working hard to get phone tracking live so that you will get attributed with sales that happen to convert offline. In the meantime, we have taken the phone number off the CJ and Buyat whitelabel sites to minimise the number of customers who try to call to book.....

Our newly designed site has led to an increase in onsite conversions, AOV and page views as well as an increase in add on purchases such as car parking and lounge passes. The price calendar makes it really easy to find yourself a great deal by showing the customer the price for the holiday 7 days either side of the day they want to go - which has led to conversion rates doubling by the first week!!!

We are sorry for any previous issues, we want to start with a clean slate and ultimately pay you guys lots of commission whilst increasing our overall site sales.

Please feel free to contact me directly to discuss the new programme on claire.court@travelcare.co.uk

    best wishes

    Hi Claire,

Thank you for your detailed reply, the problems transgressed to a lot more recently than just 2002, however your response it appreciate and rather than bringing up further comment, I wish you good luck with the program, though we pesonally will be sitting back to see how it unfolds over the next few months or so.
