Dont know if anyone got caught on this like i did.

before grattan updated the info, there was no mention that you only get sales for new customers.

I would never of known exept my friend used it so i wondered where my commission was.

Below is the email i recieved and got back.

I am sorry if this was not clear, on our own web page describing the programme we do explain that we pay for new customers, however I appreaciate this could be clearer on both this page and the CJ page so I will amend them,

well I'm extremely bemused, i thought it was a sale not only sales for new members.

Your CJ merchant page states this:

10% commission for all fashion categories, 5% for everything else!
Commission on repeat orders within 365 days

States nothing else.
So please clarify

Hiya im not sure, but it did annoy me that it wasnt clear and they didnt honour my sale even though at the time i quoted their statement from their cj info page.

And they didnt even email affiliates to clarify !!

Would love to know when they changed this as I'm pretty certain that it wasn't always the case - but I'm certainly not promoting any company that has these draconian terms.

Hi all,

Yes, the Otto brands pay on new users only.

The programme terms do state this fact, but we are going to update a couple other things to hopefully minimise any future misunderstandings.

On a positive note, affiliates get credit for any sale the new customer makes for 365 days following sign-up.

No probs all, i felt you all should all know as i was very disapointed,

Daniel - Please dont treat me as if im stupid, i had an untracked sale, so i log into cj to get a contact detail from grattan merchant info page. I read there offer details , and as stated in my first post it never mentioned for new cusatomers when i initally emailed it may well have changed now!..

Even the grattan person i emailed agreed it wasnt clear even on cj or thir site !

On another note, dont you think we should have been informed of this rather important change !!

Just wanted to thank you again for bringing this to light - am kicking myself for having them online for so long and not reading the small print properly.

Am really disappointed also as they could have been a great little group of merchants for us, heres hoping that at someone somewhere reads this and decides to have this "small point" changed.

We wasn't aware here either. Though volume is negligible or even if signed up, it's really not an attractive proposition for affiliates.

Were changes made without notification or has it always been like this?

Hi Everyone,

The Otto brands have always paid on new users only. Nothing has changed in this respect.

As I mentioned above, this information could have been presented a bit clearer. Otto and CJ have since updated the programme description to reflect this. The programme terms continue to have the information too.
