Just received the following e-mail:
Quote:
Dear John,

You will notice a bonus from Commission Junction in your July earnings. This amount was credited to your account as a result of a reporting issue we discovered following a recent upgrade to our foundation servers. This email is notification of that issue as well as an explanation of how we arrived at the credit amount you will receive.

On June 25 we upgraded a portion of our foundation servers as part of a larger project designed to enhance the network platform's ability to quickly process billions of transactions and provide a more flexible architecture for future developments. We aggressively monitored all network activity throughout and following the migration to the new servers and quickly found that a small percentage of transactions were not being properly reported to the network. Commission Junction pinpointed the problem and implemented a complete fix at the end of the day on July 1. This issue did not affect transactions that advertisers batched to the network and is unrelated to our June 28 product release.

The effect of the foundation migration issue is that 1/2 to 1 percent of June transactions were not properly posted to the network. Tomorrow, July 17 we will credit your account with 2 percent of your total commissions earned in June 2003, less all corrections for June transactions (posted up to July 10), and excluding any performance incentives, bonuses or other non-standard payouts. Your 2 percent credit for account number XXXXXX will total $XXX.XX USD and doubles estimated unreported transactions to your account. Your advertiser partners have also been notified of this issue, however, Commission Junction is completely assuming the cost of the publisher credits.

Going forward we will continue to closely manage our servers to ensure accuracy, develop and implement more testing processes, and deliver the exceptional reliability our clients have come to expect over the last four years. This policy enabled us to detect and respond quickly to the issue at hand and will help us exceed your expectations for network quality and integrity as we continue to advance its functionality and performance.

Above all else, we value our clients and your loyalty to the network. We have proactively addressed this situation so that you can continue to rely on us as your trusted third party in the pay-for-performance network. If you have any questions regarding this issue, please log in to the Account Manager, go to the Support tab and use the "Ask a Question" feature, selecting the "Foundation Migration Credit" category. Client services will respond to your question as soon as possible.

    Sincerely,

    Elizabeth Cholawsky
Senior Vice President, Product Development and Marketing

wow u guys and money.. all so shy...

I getting more than enough to buy a replacement copy of razzle for the other one I spilled salad cream on... ahem.. honest... errm salad cream..was having me lunch whilst catchin up on the latest sports car interiors..

anyway that's what I gonna get anyway...

was very upfront of CJ to do this and goes a long way in my book for integrity... we all know we got to trust all the networks but sometimes the lack of communication of a merchant via them or issues that don't get resolved can be annoying and create much cynicism.. so well done CJ..expectations exceeded twice in one day !!! first citi and CJ and now CJ all by themselves..

The "Foundation Migration Credit" has just landed in my account. I hadn't noticed there was anything wrong, so they could have got away with doing nothing about it. Well done CJ

    Yep - fantastic little bonus

I certainly hadn't noticed anything unusual and I'm sure they could have carried on with their " all tracking is unaffected all the time" lines.

    We'll done CJ

Me also, I never noticed. Good show It's like when you drop a £10 in the street and a kid comes up to you and says you dropped it. You didn't notice you had lost it but very nice surprise when your told you did.. of course I would have given the £10 to the kid for finding it as can't be many these days that would do that.

Anyway well done CJ, hope all affiliate partners see this is a good sign as more open communication like this only servers to build trust with all party's as less face it no one can get it right 100% of the time, it the ones that claim they do you have to be wary of.
