Thread: Linking to Merchants in CJ.

Couldn't find the answer on CJ, and they take ages to reply to emails, so I'll ask it here.

    My question,

If I have a site (sitea.com) which has been okayed by a merchant for linking, and I have another site (siteb.com), does this also need okaying by the merchant as well (as with Tradedoubler) or can I just use the linking HTML given to sitea.com on siteb.com?

One reason I ask this is for tracking purposes, so I can tell if sitea or siteb is more popular.

You should register all your sites with CJ.

Then you'll be able to get links specific to siteb, rather than use links for sitea.

At the moment there's no way for a merchant to approve one of your sites and not another (unless you have more than one CJ account).
So if they approve you you can put their link on any of your sites, unless they've made a specific agreement to the contrary.

Nope CJ links can be used on any site.

TD can also but its a bit of a hassle.

Pericom, although they'll work on any site, CJ links should be used on the site they're registered for.

Careful with the sites you register with CJ-

if you have a betting or adult site- it may be wise set up a separate log in . Unfortunately certain merchants have been known to look at your profile & see you have other websites that may go against their image or t & cs of affiliate/merchant agreement, and will then not approve you- as the concept of having multiple websites that don't link to each other is beyond them.

I think the problem might have been sorted out- but I'm a tad unsure

Edited for really bad spelling! <img src=http://mindscraps.com/s/cwm/cwm/spiny.gif ALT="">

WWW, I think the solution to the problem is to contact the merchant and assure them you won't link to them from the site they don't like. That's what I've had to do with one of my merchants.
