Hey guys, I own and run the website:

Get Rich with Online Poker! Texas Hold em Strategy! Hold em online FREE SECRETS! Beat no limit Texas Hold'em!

Well, as of right now, conversion rates are pretty dang terrible on the website. I'm getting hundreds of visitors a day but rarely get a single conversion.

So here's my proposition: if some folks on here help me get the conversion rates up to a good level, I'll increase the commission rate to 70%. So this means that you'll become an affiliate marketer for a product you know for a fact is getting a good conversion rate (because you helped out!) and you'll be getting a whopping $70 per sale you generate.

Now, to be completely honest, I'm not exactly sure why the conversion rates are so dismal. But here's a few ideas I have:

    - The name of the product. It might be subconsciously associated with "get rich quick schemes" which I assure you it's not.
    - The sales letter. It's a little broad, encompassing online poker in general, perhaps I need to be a bit more specific?
    - The price. It's currently at $97, what do you think would be a reasonable price for this product? Personally, I think it's well worth $97, but let me know what you think.
    - Time of the year. It's the holiday season, so something tells me people are more focused on buying gifts for their loved ones and not learning how to win at online poker.
    - Low Quality Traffic. Most of my traffic is being generated by a single affiliate marketer called "officesale". Something tells me that the traffic he's generating isn't exactly poker oriented.

If you guys can help me out in any way, point out things you immediately see need improving on the website or anything else I could do to improve conversion rates I'm listening. I'm very confident if we work together we can make this very high quality product start selling extremely well and we'll all make a lot of money as a result.

    Thank you

    Sincerely,
    Jack Spade

First thing i think when i visit the page is:

"Oh lord not another get rich quick sales letter.... browser is closed.... back to Google" :cry

I think you need to change the design and move it away from the "dodgy sales letter" format and onto a decent platform looking like an informative. professional website

Of course i might be completely wrong. There are plenty of folks sucked in by this style of website and those "get white teeth" sites on Facebook must make a few quid its all that's ever advertised on there!

What exactly do you mean by "dodgy sales letter"? Thanks for the advice

I've seen hundreds of this style of site, most done a lot better im afraid. But even the good ones are obviously scams/rubbish that they are selling.

If I was you I would try a different angle. I may be wrong, but hasnt the "get rich quick" thing had its day? Surely most people realise now days that there is no such thing and you will have to work for the money?

The thing that makes me laugh about these type of sites is they normally go something like

"Make $100,000 from only $10/nothing, We will tell you have for only $100"

surely any normal user will think to themselves

"Well if they can turn $10 in $100,000 why the hell are they messing around selling ebooks for $100 a go!"

I used to sell a lot of gambling advice products via Clickbank and my comment on your site would be people are stupid but they aren't that stupid. Your product has zero credibility - if you have got rich with online poker why aren't you playing poker now rather than wasting your time selling an ebook?

There's probably 2 ways to market a gambling product effectively
1/ Establish credibility - eg I'm a maths professor who's spent 5 years tracking odds and I've come up with this formula that will give you an edge. I'll let you in on it for $x and if it doesn't work you get your money back. People love to hear about real secrets
    or
2/ Give away the advice but grab the email and put affiliate links in your ebook

Expecting people to pay $97 for what's effectively a pig in a poke is just underestimating people's intelligence.

There's a cultural thing here too - Americans expect to be "sold to". If you don't, they think it's because you have no confidence in the product. Europeans in general (and especially Brits) are totally different. If you try to sell to us, we immediately suspect that you have to take that tack because the product is rubbish.

A more informational site will perform much better in the UK market. To my British eye, that site looks like an email collection mechanism, not a genuine service, whatever the truth is

how about installing a live chat support system on your website? I happen to know one Live Chat Customer Service - Live247support.com they offer unlimited live chat operators with per minute billing starting from just 6 cents. I think they have their live chat support outsourced somewhere in Asia that's why the rates are low.
