What is Liveperson?

If you haven’t come across it before, Liveperson is our on-site live chat service whereby a potential Sky customer can speak with someone in real time in order to help them consider which Sky package is right for them:



Based on a set of rules users are invited to chat when they click through to the Sky.com/shop page, and are asked if they would like to engage in a live chat with a customer services representative. Or if they are in need of assistance they can request a chat via a button displayed on site.

Do Sky de-dupe against liveperson?

Definitely not. Liveperson is not seen as another marketing channel but as a way of aiding conversion. We feel it should help to reassure affiliates that we are doing our best to convert the quality traffic being sent to us via the affiliate channel.

So how has it helped affiliates?

Over the past year, where active, LivePerson has on average increased conversion rates for new customer sales by over 30%. In fact, it’s working so well for us that we have invested much more resource into Liveperson, increased the team size, and are rolling it out into other areas of the Sky business.

What’s next for Liveperson?

We’re going to introduce even more targeted rules based on product and source of traffic, as well as introduce enhanced design for chat invites which should help improve conversion further.
