    Hi,

I have a discount voucher code site and I'm wondering about featuring more products on the site rather than just voucher codes. In order to try and keep the workload to a minimum I've been thinking about incorporating XML product data feeds such as those supplied by Affiliate Window. My site uses wordpress and I was wondering if anyone can recommend a plugin or other method which will allow me to layout a few products on a page from a product feed. I've come across the plugin datafeedr which looks good but seems to be a monthly paid for service (a bit more than I'd like to be paying at this moment in time).

Any ideas or advice greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have a bit of script that accesses the affiliatewindow productserve webservice and dumps product into wordpress pages, is this something you would want?

The script completely keeps your workload to a minumum, it adds nothing to your workload, sounds good?

Its a little complicated to setup, so, if you aren't familiar with wordpress plugins then I'd steer clear, but, when its working it absolutely rocks, however, if I read you right, you don't want to pay anything for a script or service?

This is cheap, cheap, cheap, and, when you have it, its yours forever. A one off payment of £17 and you have complete access to affiliatewindows entire product range in a wordpress framework, without ever having to download data.

Sounds like a bargain to me, but, then I would say that.

    Hi Caravan

Easy Content Units sounds like something you're after. You can choose to select a few products for your merchant and present them on your page by copy and paste. We have got managed units which are updated with the latest best selling products for different merchants.

Examples on how ECU can been integrated with discount code sites and real life examples can be seen - Get More from ECU — Easy Content Units for Voucher Sites

Remember dgm merchants are free, all others are based on a share. If you have any questions, or need anything at all, please ask.

    Hi Caravan,

Buy.at have developed a guide for grabbing, processing and displaying product feeds on your site:

    http://files.perfiliate.com/solution...GuideFeb09.pdf

As well as our extensive range of feeds we also offer the Content Engine via the management area which enables you to design your own content and simply copy and paste the code into your site(s).

If you have any queries or require any help on this please let me know, my email address is Reza.Badel@platform-a.com.

    Kind regards,

The script I mentioned above has now been converted into a wordpress plugin, priced at £23

Its like a content unit, but, its under your control, and it produces on-page html rather than javascript, great for SEO.

The work involved in installation and requirements:

    Requirements:

You must have a developer or api key from awin.
Soap must be enabled on your server.

    Installation:
Edit the constants.inc.php file with your developer key and your awin siteid.
FTP the complete affiliatewindow folder to your /plugins folder.
Look in your plugins in your dashboard and activate Affiliate Window ProductServe Service.

Call it anywhere on your site like this

    [awin id="0" query="kona+shred" no="10"]

where id is categoryid, query is, well, its the query and no is number of results.

This plugin doesn't write to your database and is lightweight and extremely fast.

Please PM for payment details and example urls.

Looking at the plugin again, it creates fantastic landing pages for adwords advertisers as well, right on theme and target.

A quick update, purchasers will have received their first upgrade today, incorporating separate css file to make customisation easier, the addition of the sort parameter, with 6 ways to sort the results.

Now the shortcode looks like this

    [awin id="0" query="kona+shred" no="10" sort="hi"]

Only one variable is required, obviously the query, the rest are optional, so, you could write a shortcode like this if you wanted to [awin query="kona+shred"]. The more variables you include, the better the returned results.

    Thanks a million John. :tup

I like matty281k's script a lot, it creates pages of individual products linked by category, its a great way to build an instant wordpress site.:tup

Can I ask whether it would be appropriate to start a new thread regarding my wordpress plugin, as a kind of feature request and support thread?

Thanks for the replies on this guys. In the short term I like the sound of the Easy Content Units suggested by Jason and also the CVS to posts plugin by Matty281k. As I'm fairly new to the affiliate marketing arena, I think I'll have a play with these for the time being. Once I can guage conversions following the page layout changes to include bestsellers etc I'd be happier to start looking for a more long term/paid for option in which case the plugin by scriptmonkey sounds interesting.
