    Hello All,

I've just spent the best part of about 2 hours reading about Datafeeds and the different types. I probably understood about 50%!

So onto my query - I have just built a lingerie voucher code and adult gift site and although I'm still working on it and tweaking it, I think maybe product feeds will be the way to go, to save me time? I hope I make sense:

Question One - is it better to have of products feeds, or are Content Widgets/Shop windows effective enough? (if you have good content to go with it - I thinking from a Visitors POV) or I guess that it really depends on the site in question?

I would rather learn about them and implement them it's considered the way forward, to create more sales (When that time comes!)

Right now I review Merchants, add recommended products, add content widgets, publish vouchers codes etc.... but wondering if I should really be looking at Product feeds to give it a more professional look, to hopefully increase conversions?

I would need an easy WP compatible one that's quite simple. For now

    Cheers for any insight.

    Have a good weekend,

    Grace.

I personally prefer to use datafeeds as then I am (more or less) in control. They aren't always easy though and can be downright frustrating because merchants can be so useless. For instance this morning I found a drinking chocolate set under jewellery!!!!!

I use Price Tapestry and thoroughly recommend it if you do go the way of datafeeds.

The good thing about Data Feeds is that they let you do longtail fast. I did an experiment with Price Tapestry and I have made a few sales on a site merely by getting the feed generated pages indexed in Google, I did zero other promotion on the site. There is power in that longtail ability.

I also have a list of some of the other options at:

If anyone thinks I've missed anything, let me know.

    Thanks,

    Grace.

    Hi GraceSlick,

It could be worth you having a read through our feed integration document which covers a whole range of subjects on product feeds.

Its buy.at biased but you should get the idea

I'm with you on this Grace, I am looking at data feeds and Price Comparison type platforms and scripts but it is a bit to get your head around, let alone understand which would suit your site best?

    Hi Steve,

Have a look at the buy.at Shop Central application, sounds like it could fit your initial needs quite well

    Hi Steve,

We are both now operating under the Digital Window umbrella but the buy.at and Affiliate Window platforms and products still vary at this early stage in the relationship.

On buy.at there is the Shop Central shopping platform whilst on Awin there is the Shop Window platform. They essentially do the same thing with each platform using that networks client base and both are excellent propositions.

Probably the best thing for you to do is to get a hold of both platforms and have a fiddle - you can grab them both from the networks respective management areas.

Hope that helps, give me a shout with any questions.

    Thanks
    Simon
