    Hi guys,

I bought the above plugin for Wordpress from Digitalquill and Matt Houldsworth mentioned that there would be a v2 coming soon with some changes.

I've posted on the original thread where this came up (which I can only seem to find if I search for it on the forum?? It's in Techies Corner->Techies Corner which is odd), and I've had no response. I've also emailed via the website and had no response from there either. Digitalquill doesn't receive private messages either.

I bought the plugin because it was very good at getting amazon products into Wordpress. But the search function is too broad and I couldn't add by specific product - you just search by keyword under a top level product group. I could also do with access to more fields from the API. When I mentioned this Matt on the other thread he said there would be a v2 in a few weeks. This was back in Feb, but I've not heard anything.

Matt - if you're reading I'm really interested in the upgrade if it's coming. The plugin works well, but I need more accurate product selection. Otherwise I need to look at an alternative (reviewAZON maybe?) and write off the £25.

    Cheers.

The support on this plugin used to be great, however Matt hasn't answered any emails for a couple of months now, which is annoying.

I also found the amazon feed a bit too generic but the main datafeed plugin works great depending on your server settings.

    Hi

I have been failing to get back to people due to ill health, I will post a message to all customers with an explanation when I release V2.0 of the Amazon plugin which I hope to do over the next couple of days depending on my final tests.

    Kindest Regards

    Hi Matt,

Sorry to hear you've not been well. Thanks for letting us know.

I for one could definitely make use of the upgrade.

    Hi all

Version 2.0 of the plugin is now available, it includes a more advanced interface and now allows you to create multiple searches and multiple import templates. It will also import all the products matching your search rather than being limited to 500 like version 1.0 of the plugin was.

Take a look at the Amazon Import Plugin for Wordpress Website for more details

I also have a discount code running for affiliate4u members go to:

http://www.digitalquill.co.uk/amazon...ecialOffer.php and enter the code july10 you can get the plugin for £20 rather than the normal £25

    Kind Regards

    Hi,

I purchased the Amazon Import Plugin for Wordpress Website on 10th December 2010 from Matt Houldsworth of digitalquill (33 Belvedere Road, Hessle, Hull, Yorkshire, HU13 9JH United Kingdomand did not get an email from him with the download username and password details. So I emailed him to let him know - NO REPLY!

So I submitted a ticket to him from his website and still NO REPLY!

I waited for some time and opened a dispute with Paypal.com merely in order to get some kind of response from him and guess what - Yeah, he immediately responded via email and sent the download link.

I then (like a fool) closed the dispute immediately - I SHOULD NOT HAVE!

When I downloaded it it stated that I now had a further 99 downloads left out of a maximum of 100 downloads. I tried to download it onto my laptop and it did not recognise my details. So I tried it again on my Desktop PC and still it did not recognise them. It appears that he had removed ability to download anymore.

I uploaded his Amazon Import Wordpress Website plugin and had problems with it.
In 5 years of Internet Marketing this is the ONLY product that comes with ABSOLUTELY NO USER GUIDE. There is a measly and next to useless "so-called" tutorial on his web site. There are no videos (but he states they are coming soon) How long ago was it that he wrote that crap?

I emailed him twice again on the same day after I got the one and only download and he totally ignored them - typical, as he now had my money.

I emailed him again (twice) today 11th December 2010 and he has blanked me again. I asked him for a user guide and how to cloak the Amazon links - BUT HE IGNORED ME AS USUAL!

I have purchased £1000's worth of IM products over the years and NEVER purchased such a load of crap. I know it's only £25 - but Matt Houldsworth of digitalquill could at least have the courtesy and common decency to reply and at least try to offer some help. He doesn't.

It's people like him that make the Internet a shark infested digital ocean.

My advice is STAY CLEAR OF THIS PERSON (Matt Houldsworth of digitalquill) and buy from a respectable source.

I sincerely hope that this post helps others to not get ripped off by this Internet shark and save your money and time.

Matt Houldsworth of digitalquill :: I hope you enjoy my lousy £25 - you must be so desperate for it.

    Hi FireballXL5

Thanks for your review. You have asked that I provide you with a user guide. I have done so, You were not happy with that. I am in the process of creating more detailed user guides for the plugins to add to the site along with instructional videos, however, I can not do this over night.

I am sorry you are not happy with the plugin, but you have not indicated anything actually wrong with the plugin, just that you can not follow the tutorials. I have many other customers who have commented on how easy the plugins are to use.

I am happy to provide you with a refund if you are still unhappy. I have offered to help you get started but you have yet to take up my offer. You get unlimited support with all my products, I am here to help, all I can do is offer to help you get started.

    digitalquill (Matt Houldsworth),

I have tried to be reasonable and patient with you and have now read your reply above.

We both know that you have not attempted to provide ANY of the support or answers to my questions, so I am posting the conversations by email below, so that other users can read for themselves just how you are misleading them with your comment above.

I specifically asked you for help regarding the following:

    1) How to cloak the Amazon affiliate links (You state on your web site content that your plugin cloaks Amazon links - HOW?)

    2) How to control the feeds from automatically being posted to my site, so that I can review them first - NO REPLY or HELP AT ALL!

In fact, it's far easier for me to just simply paste in the conversation below (Latest email/s first):

    14th December 2010

    Hi,

This is the last email you sent me:

"Thank you for your Purchase. Your Download instructions are listed below.

Your download username is : docklandsebooks@aol.com
Your download password is : 0MC13202XL784722J

Visit Wordpress CSV Datafeed Plugin to download

    (OR)
    "

Firstly, as you well know, that username and password you sent me does not work. I had witnesses to this affect!

Secondly, you mention in the forum that you offer unlimited support for your plugins. WHAT HELP?

Below is a copy of the last email I sent you on 11th December 2010. All you did is provide a link to the very same online tutorial on your unfinished website (with no real instructions or VIDEOS. I have already told you that that information is next to useless. HOW DOES THAT INFORMATION ANSWER MY QUESTIONS REGARDING MY EMAIL TO YOU BELOW?

I told you that there were NO instructions whatsoever regarding the cloaking of Amazon Affiliate links. YOU PROVIDE NO HELP OR REPLY REGARDING THIS!

You did not provide me with a user guide as requested.

I sent you the following email twice on 11th December 2010:

The first as a comment on your contact page on your website and the second via email to at : office@digitalquill.co.uk , which you still have not bothered to reply to.

YOU HAVE NOT ATTEMPTED TO REPLY TO ANY OF THE ISSUES THAT I HAVE MADE YOU AWARE OF.

Please will you now kindly refund me ASAP.

    Thank you
    ================================================== =======
    Hi,

I had already read all the instructions on the tutorials as I had stated in my email to you,

The plugin did download approximately 1400 individual posts. It put them all into my 'uncategorisesd' folder and I had no control over the posting. I had hoped that I'd be able to put them into my 'drafts' folder and view them first.

There are NO instructions as to how to 'cloak' the Amazon links. This was one of the most important reasons for purchasing in the first place. This is not good, as I need to stop Google from seeing that my site is FULL of affiliate links. Your website content states that your plugin cloaks the links to Amazon.

I was unable to limit the amount of posts that was downloaded.

I entered many tokens '#1#' etc into the post template and they did not show - Only the image and the name of the product was produced..

Honestly, you wonder why I get upset. I wouldn't have the need to email you if there was a comprehensive guide. I always supply one with my products. I also create a step-by-step video for my users as well. There are no demo videos on your site.

Also, the username and password that you sent to me does not work anymore. It only worked once. I believe it stated that I had 99 downloads left out of 100. Not that I need them, but I then tried to download the plugin to one of my laptops and it was not recognised.

Seriously, I'm completely left in the dark here and you wonder why I get annoyed.

I had to delete ALL the posts and in order to do so, I had to use WP Suicide, which killed my entire website. Had I not, it would had taken a month of Sundays to delete ALL the posts.

Google does not like affiliate sites at the best of times, and would probably (if not already) penalised my website for submitting all these posts in a matter of minutes. They know that I'm using automated posting!

The information on your website clearly does not answer my questions and this is what I have already asked you.

I have a plugin that I cannot use unless I can use it in a way that is beneficial to me. As it stands - I can not. That's £20 down the drain. How would you feel? That's £25 that my kids could have had!

Surely you don't expect your customers to buy your product and be unable to use it?

I hope you can understand why I contacted you and supply me with adequate information to make the plugin work as I need it to.

    Regards

    A. Marquis

Not that I have been ignoring this email, I am actually away with my family, but, you may get a better response to your emails if you were a little less confrontational. I am prepared to spend as much time helping you as required.

Please read the tutorial, if you are still struggling please let me know how far you have got and I will help you get started.

    Hi,

I contacted you yesterday about not receiving the download.

I now have it, but there are no instructions or userguide. Your website tutorials are
less than useful, as they do not give any descriptive information and especially as
to "how to cloak" the Amazon affiliate links.

I notice that you did not answer my first 2 emails yesterday until I opened a dispute
with Paypal, and only then were you quick to answer in order to keep my money.

It appears now that you have my money, you couldn't care less!

There is NO user guide or instructions on how to use this software.

The tutorials on your website are very vague and basic.

There are no instructions as to how to cloak the amazon links .

I don't know how to use this product.

I am making this request once again and hope that you are a decent person and provide the necessary information.

Please would you kindly let me have a user guide to use the plugin.

    Thank you.

    Hi digitalquill (Matt Houldsworth)

The only userguide that you provide is that rediculous and useless information on your website - That's not a userguide! It does not answer ANY of my questions. It does not tell us how to cloak the Amazon Links - it is pathetic! It is basic installation info!

You now state (in your last post) that you are going to provide instructional videos but that you can not do this overnight - well your website has been up since 2007 (that's 3 years you've had to make them!)

I have indicated quite descriptively what problems I'm having with the plugin - you just have not bothered to answer ANY of them! Why? Because your plugin is crap and does not do the things you say it does in your website content!

You stated that you are HAPPY to provide me with a refund - well I have requested just that in my last email to you - but as usual, you have totally ignored it.

So basically, this is how you've behaved in a nutshell:

    1) I asked for a userguide (especially instructions as to cloaking Amazon links with YOUR plugin) You provided NOTHING! A link to your web site info (which I had already told you was of NO help whatsoever!

    2) You state that you offer UNLIMITED SUPPORT but you have not answered or helped me with one problem!

    3) You gave me a download Username and Password that DOES NOT WORK!

    4) You stated that you'd give me a refund - I asked you for one and you ignored it!

    Hey all

I was interested to read this thread. I don't usually get involved with these types of discussions but I maybe able to give a different angle.

I have been using both Digitalquills plugins Amazon import and the Datafeed import one. I can honestly say that I have a different view.

Yes the tutorials are basic and perhaps someone at Digitalquill could create some more for their site, but I didn't need to even look at them. I found both plugins intuitive and easy to use.

I now have several sites all bringing in excess of £1k per month using the plugins, they make life easy, automatically keeping everything up-to-date which is something that I could never do before I started using them.

I have a list of features that I would like to see adding to the plugins. The main one with the Amazon plugin being some way of dynamically putting posts into categories. Although the plugin does create categories you are limited to the Amazon fields or your own text for the categories. I would like to be able to somehow put posts into categories based on a product name.

I have also requested the facility to make both plugins post to drafts first rather than published posts, hopefully this will be in a release very soon. Any news on this Digitalquill?

I have not had any problems with the cloaking facility of the plugin, it works automatically, you don't need to do anything to make it happen.

I an happy to recommend the plugins, I have had not problems at all and am very happy with both the software and support I have had.

AffiliateCat - Great to hear your sites are doing so well, can't claim it is all the plugin that is making them so profitable, it might be something to do with your marketing! Would be interested to see those sites, email me.

We are working on the drafts facility, but this means changing the way the plugins work so we need to rearrange some of the logic to do this. It will be in the next releases of the plugin.

Categories are always a problem, mainly with Amazon as their API does not allow you to access anything that would give you data that is fine grained enough to use as a logical category. Other datafeeds also have this problem where the data in them is not all that great.

I have just developed another plugin 'The Ultimate Category Matser Plugin' which can put posts into categories based on keywords. I did try and get this functionality into the datafeed and amazon plugins but the overhead on the script caused problems.

FireballXL5 - I have sent a refund to your paypal. I always try to help my customers. I am sorry you are disappointed. It is not how we like to leave our customers, we do our best to help everyone.

We have hundreds of people using our software happily, we aim to get everyone we can up and running with the software.

    Hi Matt,

I also bought your datafeed plugin and I also got a problem with it.

I imported 1200 products and that worked fine. After that I tried to edit this feed. I thought I did the right things but when I view my website I only see one post (product) in stead of 1200.

My goal with this website is to make a productcatalogue with men clothing, just like a webshop.

Can you explain me how I can fix this problem?

The site where I'm talking about is http://www.trendywear.nl

Okay I fixed the problem already. I had to change The unique field for each record is into title

But now there's a next problem.

I have my productcatalogue and every product has an image, title and price. Then when you click on a product you come to the real post and this post has exactly the same information (image, title, price) what is logical.

In the post I want more information of the product like a description and a link to the real webshop. How can I change this without changing the productinfo at the productcatalogue?

    Hi Matt,

in case you may read this here. I've been trying to contact you since mid of January after purchasing your plugin. Haven't heard from you yet either via email, ticket or post on your site. I have sent you a screenshot and description on my problem because I can't get your plugin running.
As I see you answer to this blog post here so I hope you can get back to me. I'd love to be able to get your plugin running.

    Thanks,
    Oliver
