Says change t.asp to b.asp for the deep linking function to work
and add &c= after the end of the hyperlink just before the final (") then add your new code keeping within the quote (") tags.
and then they don't in the example... *help*
The eaxample misses off the > character but seems correct otherwise....
Actually the real bugger is when you have to convert all the special characters to %3A, %3F, etc. I'll write a small app to do that for you if you want -- it will have to be much later on tonight though because I'm busy building at the moment![]()
Which merchant are you deeplinking?
building what?
I'll tell if you will.
I think it was one of the gifty ones... erm... gawd that shows how much attention I was paying.
Special characters? Say what? Didn't know that.
Don't you have to make sure they don't go all %?
It's bricks and morter kind of building -- putting a lintle above the upstairs window because the weight of the bricks were resting on the window frame!
Anyhow... Whether you need to convert the characters depends on the merchant in particular and you only know by trial and error. Usually, if there is more than one argument on their URL htt.../page.php?first=x&second=y then conversion may be required.
: / ? & = and a few others may need converting to the ascii equivelent %3A %2F %3F %26 %2D. So http%3A%2F%2Fwww.etc.
Give it a go without and see what happens. If you can't get it working, let me know what you want to link and I'll give a full example of what to do....
'k. Cheers.
Will did out the site I was doing before and have another look.
Is that whatt the advanced linking bit does on CJ? I remmeber looking at it once and wondering what it'd done.
Yup -- CJ does the conversion of characters when you put in the URL and click "update".
oh its worked now I've changed the t to a b... and removed the other &c bit... (I didn't grab a txt link I think)
or was it the other way round...?
there are no funny things in their url.
but I'll have to go and check some other things I've done now.

Hi.
Would you email me (john@dealgroupmedia.com) the merchant and the page so we can change to mistake on the deeplinking advice page.
Thanks,
John
