I have also starting doing deep linking and had no sales, let us know what you find.
Tom
I've just been doing some deep linking tests on Emporio and found that when using the deep link set up that is outlined on DGM that a cookie isn't set...
When I just link as usual following standard DGM links, a DGM cookie appears.
Is anyone deep linking and converting or is it me not setting my links properly or is just that deep linking isn't meant to set a cookie?
(email will be sent to Tony tomorrow, but just seeing what others are doing)

Jason,
Have DGM come back to you on this yet? If not, I'll chase it up with them.

Emporio Lingerie
Yes, sorry should have posted something.
Cookie test was done and appears to be setting ok now..
Had a couple of sales but conversion is not picking up sticks at the mo, but it's early days ... one of the possibles is that with deeplinking there's no way for a punter to collect their discount - so maybes Ben that's something to look at.
Any suggestions on improving conversion would be cool
Jason
Jason,
Could make a sepcial landing page just for you or something like that with an exclusive offer branded with you sites id?
If not then perhpas a free thong with every order over a certain value? That seems to have worked well with our tests today on Freeserve.

Ben is it not possible to include a banner/graphic like John Lewis do
www.johnlewis.com/default.asp
As a reminder to collect their discount?
Jason
Yes, we have that off of our voucher graphics/banners but I thought you were deep linking to specific products?
Do johnlewis do this after you've completed the voucher page or are you just meaning the regular voucher offer without a specific product?
Did that make sense?! :-)
Ben.
What I mean is when a user clicks through to a product, is there anyway that a graphic/text link appear on emporio showing for example "£10 discount for new customers"
Jason
I will work something out for you. Watch this space. I'm off to John Lewis now...
That's alright for those of you who have ever managed to get accepted to John Lewis. Not an easy merchant to please. At least my half dozen denials say so. Tried both DGM and TD.
Maybe they're not accepting new affiliates?
My first app was 14 months a go. They have been accepting other sites i keep an eye on in the meantime. So i have reapplied, to be re-denied.
It's not as bad as the merchants who can't make their minds up, first the answers no, then yes, then no etc. At least i know where i stand. They don't want my site.
The very fact that they operate closed programs omly says many people will feel the same as me.
Closed programs be for an number of reasons.. for example I might do something with a specialist site that want to only use specific affiliates for a trial period, where as other might only have a certain budget so have to limit.. however I don't understand sites that pay commission on a product being sold not allowing everyone to try and sell for them.. still that might just be me as I know from working with big companies in the past that they really like to protect the brand and don't just want anyone promoting them.
"and don't just want anyone promoting them."
Thanks Clarke.
I know you didn't mean it like that. LOL.
But this is the bit i have a problem with. It should have some structure, i should be told why, and given the chance to change whatever it is they have a problem with.
At least then i might have some understanding of why i am different from every other freebie site i can think of, more or less.
Sorry Jason, i've taken your thread somewhat off topic
