Sounds like DGM have screwed up to me
    - why did they recommend a registration based commission structure given the comments made by Fragrance Direct above?
    - sounds like they may have given John bad advice

Ive promoted FD on AW for a long time without any problems and will continue to do so.

I do feel that DGM generally get in the way and cause confusion rather than help matters. Its often amazing when you actually get to speak to the merchant direct that both sides have been confused. Ive had issues with (now resolved) with Contact Telecom, BoysStuff, & Firebox all resulting from poor communication.

For this reason my preference is to work with Independents or at least through networks where I can talk to the merchant direct (AW have a contact merchant icon!)

I emailed Emma about my deleted sales. No response, and she's had days.

Fragrance direct, please try to sort this out for me.

DGM, my copy for those sales was not fraudulent. I would like the deleted sales reversed. If this doesn't happen i will review all links to all DGM merchants. Many of them are available on TD too.

I will try my best, but am not having much joy with this either. I will e-mail Emma again right now. Katie

This has still not been resolved. Patience is not a great virtue of mine, but i feel i have been more than fair with the amount of time i have waited quietly.

I can't belive that both the affiliate and the merchant are asking for some deleted sales to be reversed, as they were incorrectly deleted, and the network is refusing.

I have also sent DGM other support requests recently, and they have been ignored. Please sort this out before i start getting grumpy about it.

    Hi

I have asked so many times for them to sort this out it is getting beyond a joke. We will not be continuing with DGM as to be honest I just do not have time to deal with so much inefficiency. I will request this again, but beyond this it is totally out of my hands as I can not view these statistics and do it myself.!! We are on affiliate window, who are great and I do hope you will give us another try through them.

All I can say is I am sorry you have had so many difficulties, I think we are all throughly fed up with this.

I appreciate your help with this matter Katie. I am beginning to learn that if John is not the program manager at DGM, it's not worth running.

DGM, there are very few affiliates here that have spoken as well of you as i have in the past. Why are you forcing me to move? I assure you that's what you're doing.

** i have modified this post to remove the personal comment. Although i felt the comment was justified when i posted it, i now realise i may have broken a forum rule. My appologies for this mistake.

This was the original email, to notify affiliates of the change.

    22/09

    Dear Fragrance Direct's affiliates,

After detailed negotiations with Fragrance Direct we feel it will be beneficial for all concerned to change the program so commission is paid on a percentage of a sale rather than a flat fee for a registration. This is because unfortunately the vast majority of registrations being sent through were fraudulent or done under false pretences. We also believe this will generate greater financial results as well as provide greater scope for incentives and promotions in time for Christmas.

We are in the process of making the technical adjustments but in the meantime the program has been removed so we ask you to temporarily remove your links until this has been accomplished. Details of the commission and cookie length will follow shortly.

Should you have any queries regarding this program please feel free to get in touch.

    Kind regards

    Emma
I queried the change immediately, especially the lack of notice of the changes. Emma replied.

    23/09

    Hi Carl,

    Thanks for your email.

I understand exactly where you're coming from and there's no argument from me in regards to the fairness of the situation. I'm trying to educate merchants on the high value of the relationships with their affiliates but unfortunately it's a surprisingly slow process. With regards to your site and the links on it you have to concentrate on what will make the time worthwhile and if that's not Fragrance Direct then that's fine as you know what's best for you.

    Kind regards

    Emma
I didn't reply until 1st October, where i explained how unhappy i was about the deleted sales. The email was polite! I never recieved a reply

    Then yesterday, i receive:

    03/11

    Dear affiliate,

It has come to our attention that there are still perceived to be issues concerning Fragrance Direct's affiliate program.

With regards to the deletion of sales, this act is never in the interest of dealgroupmedia as it removes our revenue stream as well as yours and so would never be undertaken off our own backs. The decision on how an advertiser's program is set up is a partnership between ourselves and them as we can offer our advice on what has worked before and we rely on their input on what has worked for them in converting and generating revenue to find common ground. It is in everyone's interest to create a program that will work and so it is never just one party's decision, as both yourselves and dealgroupmedia rely on regularly validated sales for reliable income.

The original way the program was set up meant our tagging only picked up registrations and no other visitor activity so we had no way of knowing which registrations led to sales as this was not part of the original agreement. Our tracking only picks up the transactions that apply to what the advertiser agreed with us and nothing more to avoid privacy issues. After discussions with Fragrance Direct we were in the process of changing the program to a percentage of a sale, which was communicated to all the affiliates, but before this was completed it was requested that the program was terminated and this was duly announced in the affiliate newsletter.

We fully appreciate how this situation has affected you and we are looking to increase the number of quality fragrance suppliers available in the near future.

Should you have any queries please feel free to get in touch.

    Kind regards

    Emma
Now she is trying to say that the deletions are correct. My deletions are dated from Sep1 to Sep 16th. During this period FD was a Pay Per Lead program, and the way i see it, that didn't change until Emma notified us on 22nd. Therefore, they have incorrectly deleted my sales for this period.

If i've missed an email sent by DGM, could someone please correct me before i go further with this.

***I have modified this post so that one piece of misleading info was deleted, and some missed info was added. Sorry for my mistake.
