Can you include the merchant id's in the feed otherwise it's not much use, or atleast include the affiliate link so we can strip out the merchant id's to check against.
Using just the merchant name to match things up is too hit and miss.

dgmAffiliates Launch Voucher & Promotion Feed
Great news dgmAffiliates have launched its Voucher and Promotion feed. dgm are determined to make it as easy as possible for affiliates to stay 100% up to date with all the latest promotions and voucher codes that our wide range of merchants have to offer!
An item in the feed can be:
> A voucher code
> A special offer, i.e. 2 for 1 on sheds, half price holidays
> A general promotion i.e. 10% off your first order
Each offer will come with details about:
> Name & Description
> Voucher code if applicable
> URL with affiliate link
> Start and end dates if it is time limited
The data in the feed provides all of the detail that you need to stay compliant with IAB guidelines regarding the use and display of voucher codes.
The feed is available in both CSV and XML format and is available from:
dgmPro > Data feeds > Product feeds > Voucher Promotion Feed
You can download the feed directly from the interface or copy the URL and include it in an automated script that can update your system whenever you schedule it to, so you can keep your deals completely up to date!
Any questions please get in contact with George

Hi Lee
Thanks for your feedback. Adding the merchants ID is something we are looking to as soon as possible. Its important we get as much feedback as possible from our affiliates so that we can make the needed improvements ASAP
if you have any other suggestions please let me know,
George
Thanks George
The only other suggestion really is to add a unique id to each offer so we can detect if its already been entered up or not, with voucher codes this is not an issue so much as we use the actual voucher code as the unique id (although using the voucher code as the unique id causes problems if the same merchant uses the same voucher code for multple offers.. ie only 1 of them gets listed as the rest get blocked as duplicates. )

Just been looking at the feed and I can see a few problems with making automation more difficult
If no deeplink is required some <url> fields are filled in the N/A or n/a.. (this should be left blank or the homepage link should be used)
Most urls contain the http, but I found one which doesn't.. (best to ensure that http is always included)
One url includes the affiliate link and the rest include just the deeplink.. (best to ensure either one or the other is used)

I agree with Lee, its best to have most the normalisation done at the network end.
Yes its possible for us to normalise stuff at our end through our own scripting ready to import using our criteria - but its far easier if the data is correctly formatted before creating any import script.
Thanks for listening George, and thanks for the voucher feed, its a great addition.

Thanks for your feedback
We have updated the feed with some of the requests and i hope that this is an improvement for everyone!
> The unique promotion ID so affiliates can check whether they have imported a particular offer or not yet
> The addition of a Merchant ID
> Date Format has been changed to changed to DD/MM//YYYY
> We have ensured that all URL's that are added include http:// at the beginning.
> If no specific web page is provided by the merchant then the field will be blank and the affiliate needs to assume the homepage is required.
I hope this has improved things and look forward to hearing your reaction,
Kind regards,
George
