Complete mystery then hey!

Using this standard easy link i'm getting odd parameters in the target url..
http://www.s2d6.com/x/?x=c&z=s&campa...iliateid=50040
http://www.siblu.com/?blacmp=dgm&blalink=february
But if I try it with someone elses affiliate id I get a clean target url..

Hi Leeky,
just to let you know, we are looking into this and will update you as soon as possible.
Kind regards,
Rob
Hi Lee,
Well spotted. Unfortunately, now you've pointed it out I've had to make some changes so nobody should get a clean URL any more
The reason why your link was slightly different is that although we provide the Easy Links, in our system they actually just redirect through one of your usual dgm links (i.e. he ones that look like v=12345678). Which one it actually goes through is dependent on the order in which the links were created for you - the first time you view a banner or text links for a campaign those v numbers in the link are created on the fly.
For you, the link that was first created on Siblu was one that at that point had a February marker on the URL (I've now removed the marker). So sometimes on older campaigns Easy Links will have slightly different landing page URLs for different affiliates.
For now, we've made sure that the links are not substantively different for each affiliate, and we have a work in progress to remove this quirk of the Easy Links.
Cheers

Great stuff, thanks for looking into it and explaining.
I'm not really concerned about any different / additional parameters, as long as it still tracked ok, it just made me doubt it a little with have different parameters and not understanding why.

No problem.
If there is Conditional Tracking on a campaign (where the client de-dupes at confirmation page, displaying the tag for the channel that had the last click) then its very important to make sure its right on a campaign. In Siblu's case our tag is in place all of the time, the parameters are for internal reporting of sales and doesn't affect sales tracking. I've turned on some new technology that will ensure the dgm parameter is always added in future though.

Yeah, i've just noticed a simlar thing with an AWIN link (cdwow), and they use a parameter ?affid=11195 which does cause confusion as using a parameter refering to an affiliate id when it's not the users affiliate id isn't ideal, so as long as such a parameter isn't used then i'm happy :-)
The problem is it's us (iCodes) who get the doubts if an url looks odd as we build the links for our users, they don't think of questioning the network or merchant!
Cheers
