Do you still get the commission for a sale if the merchant is suspended (when/if they come out of suspension)?

    SUSPENDED PROGRAMS

    Definition

"A suspended program is one where the merchant in question maybe experiencing technical issues or operational issues. All links will still click-through to the merchants site. New affiliates will not be able to join a suspended merchant program."

When a merchant is suspended notification is made via the greet text by way of the 'suspended/deleted programs' page in the affiliate admin area and in the weekly newsletter. A suspended merchant will also appear in the white section of the 'your merchants" page.

We advise all affiliates to temporarily remove suspended merchant links until the problem in question has been resolved to avoid losing commission. Reactivation of a program is made public in the greet text and in the 'your merchants' page will appear in the blue section.

Actions made whilst a merchant is suspended will appear in the affiliate stats and affiliates will be paid commission once the actions have been validated by the said merchant.

    DELETED PROGRAMS

    Definition

"A deleted program is a merchant program that is no longer active in our network and will not be reactivated"

Notification of a program deletion is made via the greet text in the affiliate admin area and in the weekly newsletter. A deleted program will also appear in the red section of the 'your merchants' page.

When ever possible a notice of at least one week is given to affiliates before deleting a program.

When a program is deleted affiliates are asked to remove all links for the specified merchant, any remaining live links after program deletion date will be redirected.

Please note no commission will be payable for sales made after the deletion date.

Right... so... the question is: why remove suspended
    links then?

(Apologies if this is a thick question!)

They get suspended cos there is something wrong with the program whether it be a technical issue which might not be tracking links properly, over tracking, merchant not paid up to date, erm ...

so in summary: its broke, we've broke it, they've broken it, you broke it, you're breaking it, its broke and not paid for...

It also stops people signing up to it I think -

    Hello Mogga,

I get the 'broke' thing, however the suspended merchant
I'm thinking of is - was - still recording pending sales, despite
    it being suspended!

I was asked to remove my link, but can't help think that
I should just put it back. (It was a very nice little earner,
    as it were!)

That's the conclusion I come to when reading the DGM blurb.

    Steve

PS This leads me to a new post, all about the quality of leads...
