It seems Autotrader simply an affiliate of the Moneysupermarket brand for the Insurance & Loan Program programs?

Moneysupermarket have their own programs, the stats reporting & client services is poor with them, yet they have the opportuinity to cream the UK affiliate market, far better rates could be attained by appying directly with Moneysupermarket than push it to Autotrader.

It just makes sense to go diectly to Moneysupermarket than send it to Autotrader

Does The AA still sell Car Data Checks?

If so I can see sending traffic to Autotader would just dilute sales, when we could send it directly to the AA.

What is unacceptable is that all the "Auto Trader / AA Car Data Check" is, is simply a white lable solution of the AA. They could easily collect other AA sales we do not benefit from. Anyone could do that.

Also does the cookie pollinate across programs? This is a problem with the RAC too, whereas The AA has this sorted.

I must me missing something as I cannot see the attraction in the Autotrader program plus half their banner ads are those that have equivalent affiliate programs to. It maybe a great brand to get onboard, but impo the program is undesirable in it's current form.

The only Auto Trader affiliate program I would be interested in is the one for actual autotrader magazine/online, maybe you can try for that one too?

I'd be interested in the warranty but not if it has links to the other three on the same page. I find myself increasingly getting the hump 'cause merchants now have affiliate links on their site for which we do not get paid. They should make their mind up on what they're selling, their own stuff or other people's.

OfferX even have a partnership with JackpotJoy now, amazing, why not put it inside the site for members only, at least we get the sign up and not them swanning off to JJ.

As for the phone numbers on sites, I really am going to have stop promoting merchants who have phone numbers at the top of their pages. Freedom Finance, massive phone number, no wonder it never converts.

Phone numbers should be replaced by live help assists, that way IP addresses can be tracked and matched with cookies, job done, affiliate gets paid, customer gets help.

It’s a great brand but the commissions are derisory to say the least. I agree with Qui Gon Jinn, most of the products on offer are simply branded affiliate deals from MS.

This being the case if possible you would be far better off getting a deal direct with MS.

Exactly. This is what 99% of people use Autotrader for and where the demand is. I would like this as well.

Okay, this is great! - But it isn't!

Why can't autotrader offer an API for their used and new cars search!

The more advanced affiliates among us need APIs to move ahead with our projects and we are just not seeing them from the largest sources in the UK.

In trhe states, there's LOADS!

Here in the UK, we have Affiliate Window's API - That's about it!

You know... I do understand that Autotrader are just protecting their interests, and they want to keep people on their site to click their Money Supermarket.com adverts, but come on!

Honestly, if anyone from Autotrader is reading this thread; you have the servers to offer an API all it would take is someone to sit and write a class that simply accesses the classes that already do the things your website does.

I'll write it for you if you like!

Is it free to advertise on Autotrader? Perhaps affiliates should club together & do their own FREE service an recoup the income from sponsored ads & aff progs. hmm might just do that.
