WOW
How does IWOOT get away with this. These are the banners currently displayed on websites courtesy of DGM.
.... and affiliates are worried that telephone numbers are on the sites!
...from the ad banner - "We may have to put santa out of a job".
They may not put Santa out of a job but they are doing their best to put affiliates out of one.
I dont see this as a problem - just dont use the banners!
If it were on the site itd be different as there would be nothing you could do
Do you use banners at all?
Do you check what they have on them every day? We have to trust merchants won't do mad things with banners...
What if they swap an existing ok banner for one of these?
If thats what happened then that would be different - very naughty - although I suspect it would be through ignorance rather than malice
The previous banner was really nice, showing some of their top products and prices. I pulled their banner in favour of another site as soon as I saw the new banner with the phone number - seems inappropriate and not good for affiliate/merchant relationships. I agree that we should be able to trust that the banners we carefully choose to match our sites content shouldn't be replaced with something like this.
Sorry Guys, these banners were for another campaign, we are amending them as we speak...
In the meantime we will overlay some of the other creative over the top, Iwantoneofthose are working on taking the telephone numbers off.
So do not worry!!
Have a merry Christmas!
