    Hi,
Just wondered how many merchants can be this awful.

    1. Without a word, they suddenly dropped the bonus commission for higher sales.
    2. In May, they only validated half my sales, randomly, not chronologically.
    3. Today I got a letter along the lines of yippee - we're going to pay you less, starting from today.
    4. Suddenly all my pendings going back to 4th May are showing the lower commission.

Obviously, affiliates devote resources to a merchant or product according to expected commission. I've gone from £20 a sale in March to £12 now - a drop of 42%.

It seems blatant fraud to only validate half my commissions and then drop the commission rate on the other half.

Are they really allowed to drop my commission on sales I've already made?

I've written to DGM, of course but I'm still waiting responses from them on the first two points.
I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out.

    In a nutshell - No

If not resolved adequately for you & other affiliates let us know.

I don't think it's fraud, but sometimes when there is a commission change, you occassionally see back dated pending sales all change...reckon it could be a flaw in the dgm system.

    Please keep us informed.

Its coming - slowly - first ideas meeting only a few weeks away - invites should be going out by end of next week.

If there is anyone I have not spoken to/PM'd/emailed who really really really wants to be in on the ideas meeting (and has useful ideas to contribute) please PM me before this time next week.

I hope you're right, as it's difficult to do ppc if the rates change after you've made sales.

If an affiliate marketing body helps, that'd be great. I'll make sure I vote, if I haven't already.

Please feel free to send me anything you want people to read and I'll make sure its distributed - email it to info at findmethebestprice.co.uk if you would please.

I will post the list of attendees once the invitations have been sent and acknowledged - I dont wish to embarrass anyone who has said they wanted to take part but now finds they dont have the time etc...

    kbudden,

Is this a DGM think tank / roundtable or independent of this re Affiliate Association.

If the former, then after two years of proving useful advice (free consultancy) & attending a few roundtable sessions, think sessions & telephone conferences, we come firmly to the decision, little progress has or will be made in the immediate future.

If the latter, then a genuine well done on bring forward something which is a necessity.

Maybe one poll, would be to initially ascertain if affiliates prefer an association consisting of only affiliates which can act as body obo affiliate members or whether the association encumbers merchants & networks & affiliates.

After considering time contemplating i personally favour the former, but a seperate association for the latter would also be needed as there would be certain objectives which is only perculiar to one.

Better if we picked this up in a more relevant thread.

I think it is illegal to retrospecivly change the terms of a contract/earnings (the thing you agree to when signing up for a merchant!)

I'd start pushing the punters to weightwatchers or something! £15 a sale? not sure what ediets does for you?

And Keith, as for the proposal to form a body to support the affilaites needs and rights - I'd be well up for it (provided it ain't all down there in the smoke)

I know the industry quite well and have nothing better to do with an afternoon (unless its sunny and I can ride my bike!) - but seriously, if you have a plan and don't just give threee days notice for a meeting- I'm sure I can/want to give a little time to a affiliate union.

No this is not a DGM thing, this is the separate Affiliate Association which is finally starting to see some real movement.

Agreed though we shouldnt hijack this thread so I'll start another thread once full details of the initial meeting have been finalised

Many of you will have been made aware of the changes to the eDiets program. Both dgm and eDiets are committed to working with publishers to bring improvements to this program.

    Commission Rate Change
eDiets undertook to change their commission structure to incentivise publishers and reward on performance. Although the basic commission has been lowered, the new tier structure gives publishers the opportunity to earn more commission than before – an increase of £5 from the previous basic rate.

Publishers achieving their tiers will be awarded manually at the end of each month.

Please be aware that this commission structure is only effective from 8th June forwards. All publishers with valid sales before this date will be awarded their normal rate of £15 per sale. Due to tagging changes, the dgm system will still show these sales at £12. The extra £3 credit will be made to publishers manually by the end of next week – 17th June, for all valid sales prior to 8th June.

    Validations
Publishers would have noticed that not all sales were validated at the end of May. It has been necessary to change the validation period for eDiets due to an increasing number of queried sales.

Publishers will be pleased to know that validations will now be done twice a month for eDiets. The first monthly validation will take place mid month, the second at the end of each month.

If you have any further queries please contact patricia.erskine@dgm-uk.com

I tried this from a few locations and there appears to be a problem with this program.

Testing an affiliate link for the first time takes you via to site. On subsequent attempts it doesn't. I don't know whether this only affects a few or many.

I asked a few people with 4 out 5 expereincing the same problem

Currently using Internet Explorer version 6

After deleting the cookie & temp files, teh problem still persisted, which has just been reported to DGM

Same here - worked a couple of times and then nothing. Also, some very odd sales showed up today - weird order numbers.

Still haven't had a reply regarding their stopping the bonus commission in the first place without a word to me, which was point 1. on my posting. Tired. This has gone on for weeks. Other networks take about 24 hours to reply when I have a question.
I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out.

A colleague says DGM are experimenting with a new tracking or cookie on this merchant.
