Is it just me or is DGM just a complete and utter total waste of space?

Despite the fact that they said old dgm2 links would work, none of mine do. None of the dgm2 banners are showing.

I tried switching over some of the dgm2 links to dgmpro links but a lot of the dgmpro links don't work either.

I've just removed a lot of DGM merchants from our site as in my opinion they are a total disgrace.

    Hi Richard,

Sorry to hear you're having problems. Can you email me with your contact details so one of our publisher support team can call you back?

I don't really need any "publisher support".

Could you just please explain why all the DGM2 links and banners do no longer work? Could you also explain why many of the new dgmpro links don't work either.

Surely you must be losing a lot of money for yourselves as well as your affiliates/merchants due to these ongoing problems.

Richard, just been having the same problems myself too. Hav egiven up, I'm not wasting my time trying to use a system that isn't working. Got more important things to do, like working with the networks that have working links etc!

    Cheers

I had a member of our staff go through one of our sites last week and she had loads of dead links mostly from dgm today they all seem to be working ok..But i have just updated them all to go through other networks where possible and if not possible i have changed to dgmpro links rather than dgm2 link.

It would be good if we were actually given a date when the dgm2 links will expire because i have heard about 1 year but would nice to have an exact time from dgm so we all know where we are going.

Do other people think things are improving with dgm in the last couple of weeks or not?

    No...

They need to totally relook at how reports are displayed & interacted with...not modify...totally relook. I see the errors & lack of continuity, but it's their job to find them themselves. Sort out not just what is presented, but the way it is presented. It's just so ugly, that I don't even allow my kids to look at the monitor when I have to login. As for the program information pages...come on please .. what is that.

    None of these Joe mate.

I mentioned this in this thread: http://www.a4uforum.co.uk/showthread...=34220&page=12 and on the 1st September Michelle replied saying "Just to make you aware that we will be adding commission to the account summary shortly". Unfortunately it still hasn't happened. I can't believe that a basic feature such as this wasn't in there from day one.

I'm sad to say that I've moved quite a few links away from DGM as I just can't possibly work with the new DGMPro interface, it's terrible.

    I've sussed DGMPRO.
    OH yes. I have.
    Its easy.

OK, what I've actually done is work out how to join a merchant and how to see how much commission I've made.
As these two things are pretty high on my list of things to do I'll share my secrets.

    (1) First log in. I've not sussed bookmarking a pending stats page like we could on the old dgm but I think it times out too quick anyway to do this.

    (2) Click on reports in the top menu.
Click sales list (left hand menu), change the option to current month in the drop down box (Or any other time frame available) and commission is shown in the table.

    (3) To join a merchant... now this one had me foxed...
Go to manage, Join campaigns and ESSENTIAL - you have to click the button for (ALL) else you'll only see the programs you've already joined. Hmmm - yes perfectly logical in a society that expects to turn off a pc by clicking on the start button.

I seriously dislike the merchant information display and think it looks awful as it is. when so little of the page width is used it seems crazy to use lots of scroll bars!

OK thats about all I can do on DGMPRO and I'm sure over the coming months I'll suss more out.

No, but i do think familiarity can lead to acceptability or a feeling of "this is ok" or "this is getting better". E.g I can go in now, grab a link, run reports... which is ok but underneath i still consider it probably the worst affiliate interface ever and the most featureless uninspiring network system about.

When you login there's just nothing - no promotion of merchants, no latest programs, no updates... nothing.

I have spoken to one merchant (which is one of the few we have left) about tracking as since they switched from DGM2 to DGMPro no sales have been recorded by us using S2D6 links - yet under DGM2 we managed to hit monthly bonus targets with them. The merchant have suggested we use CJ links instead as they can track missing sales. As yet neither DGM or the merchant have confirmed if tracking is a problem.

The perspective as to "are things better" I think will be changes in earnings though - comparing DGM2 vs DGMPro vs "New" DGMPro

Thanks Jason and thanks to mogga I can now see my commission. It's well down on last month which was well down on the month before which was well down on my average earnings over the last couple of years on DGM.

I'm fed up with DGM and although I've updated some links to DGM Pro I'm also switching links elsewhere.

It's pretty obvious even to my untrained eye this new interface is indeed as the thread title suggests a joke, and not a very good one either.

Our affiliate manager has pulled all old dgm2 links!

She told me that dgmpro seems to work accoring to our stats. I said lets wait till pay day to see!

Cmon DGM why did you not leave the new and old running parrallel instead of just turning the ads off?

All your comments on usability and functionality are going into the review we're doing right now, and in particular we do know the commission figures need to be added to the account summary. We also expect to replace "Getting Started" with the account summary as your default page shortly.

I've said this before, and I'm sure I'll say it again, but DGM2 links do still work. There are some issues with:
    - Publishers who were never signed up to programs but generated traffic for them anyway
    - Publishers using non-existent DGM2 banner IDs, where dgmPro validates these before passing traffic along
    - The IE6 cookie problem that Rich posted about last week
    - Broken DGM2 cookies that can stop links working

I'm just about to post a detailed response on how to deal with all of these. Our testing, and our stats, strongly support the view that the cookie problems impact publishers in far greater numbers than they do regular Internet users, because they are caused by large-scale, long-term access to DGM2.

I'll post a link to the detailed response here shortly, and we'll add it to the FAQs in dgmPro help today.
