Thanks for the heads up Matt, with the loss of tracking compared with my PPC it looks like I'll be taking a loss on Vodafone this month.
Added to that their stupid "cap" thing.. honestly, what a shambles.
It is with regret that we inform you that the Vodafone affiliate program is suspended with immediate notice.
All valid cookie sales will be honoured for 30 days and we recommend that you cease promoting either Vodafone contract or Vodafone PAYT products as soon as possible.
This suspension is caused by Vodafone and their agency OMD moving the sales tag on the Vodafone site from the order page to the confirmation page, on the site. At purchase stage, the consumer has two options for receiving order confirmation – on page or via email. The email route has not been tracking dgm sales. This has resulted in a drop off in tracked sales of 65%. Clearly this is an unacceptable state of affairs.
This change was done without prior notification to dgm by either the agency or the client. It has taken dgm some time to ascertain the exact reason for the drop off in tracked sales, and this change was only confirmed by the agency on 11th October.
Since then we have continued to monitor this and have liaised with Vodafone from a technical and an agency perspective. Despite earlier receiving assurances that the tracking is working again, this is clearly not the case as dgmPro figures are demonstrating.
We will be taking this up directly with both Vodafone and their agency OMD, as they have breached our standard terms and conditions by moving the sales tag, and it is our intention to seek compensation for all sales not tracked between the dates 26th September (when the tag was moved) and now.
Further update on this will be communicated should we have any information on compensation or change in the position of the tag.
We are grateful for your continued support throughout the time this program was live; it had real potential, and in September we were able to demonstrate this potential with a higher budget, higher volume delivery, and lower deletion rate.
We recommend that you promote the following clients in place of Vodafone:-
BT Mobile
Mobile Shop
OneStopPhoneShop
We, like you, are extremely disappointed by the actions of this client and its agency and assure you we will take all measures to recover your lost sales.
Regards,
Matt

You recommend we promote BT Mobile, which was removed from DGM's network on 14 September?Originally Posted by Matt The Hat

Well spotted Jon - I apologise.
BT Mobile was indeed suspended on 14 Sept.
LOL - Another nail?
It's a long way back from here - Shame really, DGM used be a quality network.
Now with the loss of Vodafone and now further technical issues it's going to take a lot of confidence boosting to get affiliates back on board.

I await compensation but wont hold my breath.

I requested suspension of the Vodafone program to protect affiliates. Would you have preferred it if I had simply left it, with the client side tracking issues it currently suffers from?
Irresepective of your views of dgm, I have tried to manage this program as best I could under the rules it operated under. It is unfortunate that the program is currently suspended, and I am working with the site side technical team today in an effort to resolve the tracking so that we can reactivate the program.
I will update you as soon as I know anything further, as I have throughout.
cheers,
Matt
Vodafone definitely need a good slapping on this one. But then, all the networks seem to have some issues with their programs - the independents tend to be better in terms of reliability.
